Thinking down the line (all I can do right now) about a pop-up camper to pull behind the bronco.

Do you pull a camper (pop up or other)?
If so, what brand?
What size?
What weight?

POST SOME PICS TOO!!!;D;D;D

Check with Revelation, he pulls a popup camper with his. From what he tells me he can barely tell it's back there, even on the freeway.

I did in the past, popup was a jayco weight was about 2k loading it was tricky to keep enough tongue weight to keep the sway out. I also had manual drums they did the job but power discs would have been better.

Here's another pic. The trailer is a 15' and is 2500 lbs loaded. Just like ransil posted, it needs plenty of tongue weight. It pulls really good but you know it's there.;)

My camper is to big for mine but can I count pulling four cords of wood in my truck bed trailer. It did just fine till the shackles on the trailer broke going over a cattle guard.

I pull a ski boat with mine. With 3:50 gears, it's hard getting moving. After that, it pulls okay. The disk brake setup will be much better for stopping compared to last summer!

Towed my popup from central Florida to Albany Ga. many times over the 8 months I was working there. Bronco towed it flawlessly. It weighs about 2k when loaded with everything. No sway, shoot half the time I forgot it was even back there. I tend to think that it towed so well because the 300 loves to be put under load, not sure what the results would be with a 302 and the higher RPM torque range. As a bonus I got about 2mpg more while towing the camper, More than likely from running 70 instead of 78mph.

I used to have a teardrop I built, didn't tow it but once or twice. but I now have a '63 Apache Eagle tent trailer we towed down to Borrego this last November with my Yamaha Zuma 125 on the tongue. Total tongue weight was around 350lbs, total tow weight was around 800lbs.

How does that scamp pull? I have an old beast of a 14 foot trailer that is too heavy for the bronco. We've been seriously thinking about swapping to a scamp.

Any other experiences with the scamp you'd like to share would be great to hear.

Pulls great.. It weighs right @ 1600# loaded. I have it set up for boondocking-a lot of the 13 footers can go weigh up to 2500#. The 351 (instead of the tired 289) hardly knows it's back there. One, in my experience, should keep towed weight below 2000# and watch the tongue weight (approx 10%). Front disc brakes are a must.

Love Borrego! I've been there a bunch for work but its a little far for me to drive my rig out there.

Do not want to HiJack, but would all the contributants post hitch pictures.

Don't want this to be a Hijack but I thought it might be of interest for others that might be considering towing with their EB's. Would love to see what everyone that has commented or posted pics on the thread to please post pics of their hitches and how they mount to the frame or horns. I am working on my hitch and would love to see what others that are towing have done. I have already done front and rear discs and added a factory swaybar up front. I will be adding airbags out back for leveling and swaysbar out back as well, when I get it all figured out. I will be towing a 2002 Coleman Utah CP Popup, single wheeled and has electric brake I know it's heavy as it has a slide out dining area and with those skinny 14" tires it required flattening them when we would camp at Pismo.

Bronco must haves- weight distribution hitch (for any trailer over 3K#)
good disc brakes
electric brake controller

Trailer must haves- weight distribution hitch (for any trailer over 3k#)
electric brakes on EACH axle if tandem
should be streamlined to some degree.
Wind resistance REALLY helps aggravate trailer sway
tongue wt and proper loading is critical to help prevent sway

Read the Thread on how far have you driven your Bronco thread here on CB about one of our trips towing with the Bronco... over 6,000 miles with trailer and kids... do it right and don't expect it to tow like a full sized pickup! Have fun and drive slower...

Curious if anyone does run a weight distributing hitch and if so how did it work with your hitch. I have seen the horn flex with small trailers and no WD hitch.
