Airbur,
This is what I have as a bracket.

It looks different than the one you're showing. This is the first that I have heard that I need a spacer. I will have to examine this closely when I start reassembling the upper.
This may look more like what you have?

Also, I used a washer on each side of the firewall to help cover up the original throttle cable hole and provide a little more stability.
Excellent, this is what I was hoping it was...Thanks
;D
I will remove the linkage tonight.
Then after that I get to drill the hole for the harness. Yay! %) Really looking forward to drilling into a firewall that was recently patched and repaired along with a lot of other panels.
I didn't like the look of the cheesy grommet so I took a week, a lot of beer and grew some.

I have seen them with worse bends, but yes a sweeping loop would loosen it up a bit. Very important check under the dash where the cable goes thru the aluminum fitting on the firewall. Make the cable is not sawing on the fitting. I have actually seen the cable cut a groove in the fitting because of misalignment. That is were I would start.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the kit that I received from you guys had no angle washers or shims so there is no way to adjust the alignment.
