U152 seems to be the most common by far. 4.11’s are much more common as well, still not sure why those Seattle DSO’s have 3.50’s…? Some weird PNW fuel mileage requirement or EPA limits???

Quite a few less Bajas built in 75 making them more rare, but I believe the earlier ones are more desirable since they have more Stroppe parts and labor… May just be personal choice? Doesn’t matter, they are all awesome…

The bottom plate is actually threaded, so there is no washer and nut needed. Very common misconception, so don’t feel bad.

The sad thing (to me anyway) is even though that Baja is beautiful and rare it will still not fetch the high numbers that the big name resto mod shops are fetching…

I like ProtoFab’s too, but it isn’t perfect… An internal weld broke on mine so the cam latch guts fell out and I had to send the carrier back to Arizona for them to cut it open, fix it, weld it back together, and return it to me… That was not a cheap shipping endeavor but it had to be done.

I like the look of most all of them, but it comes down to the ease of use and strength of the design of their tire carrier to me. If you are looking for that option…

I don’t believe that Stroppe changed the front springs. Most of them were ordered from Ford with the U152 Heavy Duty springs with a 4900# GVW rating making them ride a little stiff… Interested to see how they were mounted differently, that doesn’t sound like a Baja Bronco option either.

I am not questioning his judgement, I am questioning how he can judge them without seeing them. They very well could have been complete junk and not worth $60, nonetheless $600, then we have a new user looking for $600+ for something nobody will buy… I have bought and sold both used and NOS...

How can you throw a dollar amount on them like that before you even saw them? Do you have both backing plates and all of the original hardware as well? That makes a difference too…
