    Grime inside marker lens

Try soapy water and a pipe cleaner. You should be able to bend the pipe cleaner over on itself and sneak it down into the inside corners to scrub the lens without taking it apart.

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I hear you loud and clear. This stuff seems to be setting up now. The globs are getting pretty solid and its a lot les tacky. I'm not using any more though. I have some Evercoat Control Flow coming for the rest of the tub seams. It doesn't work well for the outer seams that need to be...

What do you do for a living to pay for your Bronco Addiction

My son is training to be a diesel mechanic right now and interns in one of the undergrounds in the Carlin Trend. I'm a mechanical engineer with 20 years in mining and power generation. I work as a Maintenance Manager for a mining company in Utah.

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I tried a halogen lamp for about an hour. The sheet metal was hot to the touch but it didn't seem to drive the sealer reaction any. I didn't even have time to check it this morning and I won't be able to do much with it tonight so i'm just leaving it alone for another 24 hours. I think it's...

    1966 Budget Build

Very nice platform to start with. I think mine started with more rust than yours has paint. I'm jealous.

    Bolt In Grab Handle?

These tube clamps are pricey too but a couple of them and a little welding and it could be LESS pricey. I know they work well and it would be removable. http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.php/o-d-tube-clamps.html

What is your opinion on this??

X2, or X3, wherever we are. I've never taken one apart that didn't have loctite in the threads. I always use red on these and I always blast the holes with brake cleaner and compressed air first to clean the oil out. The loctite should work even with the oil but there's no reason to take a...

Offroad Bronco Camper Build - Lots of Pictures

I had a request from Rockin69er about anything I would do different if I was to do this over again. We have only used this camper a couple of times since the Canyonlands trip and I will say I WOULD NOT build one without a heater. We finally used it in some pretty cool weather and it kept us so...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

It's been another 12 hours and its still as tacky as it was this morning. Maybe the stuff has just gone bad. I used it last year on the trailer project and it worked pretty well. It was still hot outside though (about 85+ at night) so maybe its just the temperature thats causing my issues...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Well I just checked the sealer again this morning and it has finally started to set. Its still tacky but it is no longer liquid. Its too tacky to be sanding around though so I'm going to wait another day or two until the outside seams are completely dry so I don't coat them with dust that I...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Hah! good point, its not like I'm going to blow the schedule on this or anything. My kid has waited so long for this to be done that he grew up and went to work in the mines himself..... so much for driving it the last couple years of high school.

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

It snowed a foot at my house about 10 days ago but has actually been unseasonably warm in the day time since then. It's still right at freezing at night though. It doesn't really matter because I have good insulation and no fear of high gas bills ;D. I have kept the garage at 70 degrees since...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Thanks for the encouragement. It finally feels like I'm getting close here. I had a set back this morning. The slow set seam sealer I used is supposed to set in 12 hours and cure fully in 24. It's still as soft as when I applied it this morning. I'm a little concerned that I will have to...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Finally... Some Primer I masked the rotisserie with a roll of saran wrap and a few pieces of masking tape and hit the bottom and inside of the tub with an epoxy sealer primer. These parts will get bed liner later. The outer panels got a couple of coats of epoxy sanding primer and sat over...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

The Last of the Welding is Done I finished up the driver side floorboard and the last of the remeining holes in the firewall. I also welded the original tire carrier holes closed. I hit the outer panels with a scuff pad to rough up the new panels and knock the surface rust off of the blasted...

    Experiences with 4WheelParts?

I've bought tires from them locally but never online. At the time they were the best price available. I just can't say anything about their online performance. I made the mistake of taking my bronco to them once for a brake problem I didn't have time to solve. They aren't particularly...

    Inner kick panel...all fixed now!

I'm having a hard time visualizing what you mean by the pictures you posted but I think I understand. It's been a whils since I did mine but I remember that that indention did not exactly line up. I do remember that the whole cowl sagged when I had it cut apart and I had to jack the whole...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Floorboards... Again At the very beginning of this project we fabbed up some new floorboards and thought we had them taken care of. When we sandblasted the tub we blew through a few spots in the passenger side that had originally looked good. A spot was also blown through the weld where I...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

Still trying to get the last of patch work on the tub done before the weather turns cold. I was able to get a good weld on the emergency brake brackets that had to be relocated and got the extra holes in the bed welded up. I also added some plates and permenent nuts to the firewall to help in...

1970 Build - For the Next Gen

I built a temporary paint booth so I wouldn't completely overspray everything in my garage. It's tight but it should work better than a plastic tent. I finally got the body back off of the chassis today. I have a couple of days of welding on the bottom of the bed to fill 40 years worth of...
