Got a new Bronco! Help me fix the floors...w/pics!

Mine was much worse than your rust, but I did replace the whole section of front floor pans ( and much more). Here is the write up I did on my website and it will at least give you a look at what it will take to remove/install floor pan pieces: http://www.orangestallion.com/howto.html good luck

Recomendations on welders for bronco work

I have to put a vote in for the miller 175 as well. I borrowed a buddies Lincoln 175 for 6 months to work on my Bronco before buying mine. The biggest difference in body work is the infinite voltage control. I felt like I could never get the Lincoln welder tuned to where I wanted it. My miller...

Household electricians please respond for Bronco help

It is always a good idea to double check the previous electrician's (or homeowner's) work. I was suprised my house had not burnt down after seeing the PO wiring strategies. I am not a certified electrician but have rewired my house. Here is what I would do: 1. Make sure the circuit is a...

Preparing for another Crab Cage Mass Buy

I am looking into a cage right now as well. I would probably be up for the family cage (would need to see the price difference to decide between HREW and DOM) without seat mounting points. Also would want shipped unassembled to 48329.

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

I was able to take some big steps over the last couple days. First and foremost, I was able to remove nearly all of the bracing in the vehicle. It has been quite some time since the Bronco was able to stand by itself. The only bracing left in the vehicle is up under the cowl to make sure the new...

At what point is glass justified

It's tough to say exactly how much time because I had a lot of travel and time away from the bronco due to work and getting married. However, In the last month I got the whole rear section reworked (striker posts back) and the drivers door area was completed today. Only thing left is the cowl...

At what point is glass justified

I went the all steel route and the only pieces I won't be replacing are the upper quarter panels, tailgate, hood, grill, and core support. It was an awesome learning experience and I am really making progress lately. I will probably have the drivers door area finished this weekend. Check out the...

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

More progress from a very busy Sunday. I did finish the last of the rear wheel well and front filler neck cover, and moved onto the door area. The wheel wells will have to be reinforced once the tub is taken off the frame since it is hard to reach from under the vehicle. From lessons learned on...

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

After two weeks of travel for work and a buddies wedding, my anticipation finally manifested itself in a good deal of welding tonight. I was able to get almost all of the drivers side wheel well, filler necks, and extension panels in place. Sheet metal goes in so much easier when it is...

good trials in co to wheel now

Red Cone has some pretty steep sections, but it is definitely not as hard as holy cross. Rollovers are not uncommon on holy cross. The section you have to be careful on is the very steep and narrow descent at the end of red cone that comes down onto webster pass. If you come from the dillon side...

    Power steering problem

It is also possible that the belt over the last week as stretched slightly. I would recheck the tension on the belt and adjust if needed. The gradual worsening sounds like the belt may be slipping slightly.

good trials in co to wheel now

I am out in CO right now, we just did Red Cone and I would highly suggest it. Also, if you are by Red Cone it is not too far away to get to Wheeler's Lake (outside Alma) which I thought was great. If you stay far right on some of the first obstacles it makes for a fun time. We also got through...

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

Thanks for the compliment....I am glad it is helping someone out. I think the most important part is lining up the tunnel area and front floorpans first, although I am sure opinions will differ. If you have a good firewall section and are just replacing the JBG floor pan kit, then just cut out...

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

Well there was some more progress made this weekend. I am a little bummed though, I am out of town for the next two weekends and won't be able to make any more progress. Here's the details: I was able to fit in the the wheel housing, inner rear quarter, and extension panels but I did not have...

    Will this crack?

I am not even putting the stock spare tire carry on again. So that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the help guys. I will skim coat it and hope for the best

    Will this crack?

I did weld it from the back side of the panel, and I welded the front side of the panel to blend the gaps without using a lot of body filler. I am not conercerned about the weld cracking, my concern is more with the body filler cracking out under body movement from off-roading. Has anyone ever...

    Will this crack?

This one is for the off roading body guys.... My goal is to have a good looking rig that I can take on the easy - medium off road trails. Good articulation and fun but low risk. My question is about the tail light housing I am replacing. I welded in the good section from my old housing that...

The orange beast isn't very orange anymore

I am over at Jeff's more than my wife goes food shopping. Can't say enough good things about them. I can say that most of the panels I have used so far from them are good quality. The rear wheel tubs and tail light housings leave something to be desired, but they can be used if you spend some...
