1976 Bronco 2BBL 302 - Need Assistance with Vacuum Diagrams

My father recently purchased a 1976 Bronco. I have yet to see it (tomorrow,) and we need to confirm the vacuum lines are properly setup for smog. He has gone to three shops and they cannot help him, yet they tell him it appears to be wrong. He is a disabled veteran with health concerns so he is limited to what he can do on his own time.

I have gather multiple diagrams from various years, but from what ive seen nothing is 100% Clean cut and verified to be exactly the thing we need.

Again, in search of engine bay photots & diagrams specific to a 1976 302 with a 2BBL carb. CA Legal.

Thank you very much for any information any of you can offer. Much apprecaited!

One reason you're getting conflicting reports is that there were actually differences within the same year, depending on exactly where the truck was first sold (CA, FED, Canada, etc) and maybe even running changes during a year.
Seems like a LOT of you guys with specifically '76 model year Broncos are asking this exact question.
Do you have a fax? ;D Just kidding, I should probably verify what I have is current and just scan it into the computer. I checked our shop's stock and relatively unmolested '76 for a customer/forum member last year. Should still have the diagrams laying around somewhere. I'll look.

In the meantime though, do some more searching here because there were at least two separate discussion about this not long ago (maybe a couple of months?), where people posted up pics and diagrams and talked about the variations.
At least one of those discussions involved a '76 too, if I remember.

Let you know if I find any of the drawings I had.

I had noticed that in a few photos. Any additional help would be amazing. Im heading over later today to help him out. Spoke with him last night and I can tell he is a little let down about it all but overall still excited as can be by the purchase.

and please thank your father for his service to our country.

Without a doubt, I will. Thank you for your help! Im eager to see him and the truck today!

Update - Okay. I was able to snap a few pics. I guess we are still at a loss on if this truck is or isn't setup right, vacuum line wise. Again, its CA Legal setup.

Two side questions I have are in these photos (Please ignore the red wire for the carb linkage! Embarrassing I know, but its how it was when bought. Fixing that ASAP!;D )

In this photo: Red & Green Circles lead to nothing. Red is two inches long and then ends with an open line. Green is about a foot long and just ends with an open line.

This Vacuum TREE is coming off the back of the intake manifold.

Second Photo: (*****I labeled the other lines coming from the Tee to help.)

Again, the two lines with a Red Bordered Circle & Green Bordered Circle are what we initially have issues with as they are dead ends and have no clue where they go.

Although overall, we have zero clue if its hooked up properly. Thanks for any help again!!!

This is a little crude but it's most of a CA '76 system.

In both photos the PVC port at the back of the carburetor is plugged with a short hose that has a bolt in it. I recall seeing a '76 that had a long PVC hose from this port all the way around the carb to a PVC valve in the driver side oil filler cap.
A vacuum line from the intake T is unlikely to go directly to the distributor. It would go to a temperature switch along with the ported vacuum. The PVC would have to be hooked up properly, anywhere they check for emission equipment.
One thing working for you is that the people the state has checking this stuff don't know everything that's supposed to be there either.

Thank You Soooo much! Can I ask if you based this off an actually '76 (IE: Did you draw this yourself, or found it?) Either way...Im ecstatic about it! thanks!!!!!!!

Thank You. Honestly with this "wonderful" California heat, I somehow overlooked it while fixing a few things yesterday. I already got off the phone with my dad to inform him about that bad boy. Cant believe I missed it!

It is based off a '76. I helped a member here sort it out a few months back.

Just wanted to thank everyone again. Diagrams, conversations, and advice helped a ton!

EDIT - He took it to a reputable local garage which fixed a few lines. I believe they didnt have enough time or knowledge to get it all done, as they say that the ports on the Air Manifold have no Vacuum suction on them. They mentioned to my father to take a looking into that, which would lead me to another issues.

Ideas?
