THIS!!!!
Raptor is a perfect candidate for the new 7.3!
%) Why? the High Output Ecoboost in my Raptor already makes 450HP and 510lbs. Which is better than what this heavy ass, gas guzzling new engine is attempting to get.
I get 15mpg in Sport mode tearing about city/backroads. When I make the long 600 mile highway trips I press a button and "detune" the performance/shifts and cruise along getting better MPG than that.
Slapped on the new Borla exhaust and it actually sounds better (but different) than a V8.
It's funny to me how many people say online (not here) that they would buy a new Raptor if it still had the 6.2L V8. (411hp/434lbs with 0-60 of 7.1secs and 11/15mpg..ha..nobody even gets that) vs the 3.5 HO EB (0-60 of 5.2 and 15/18mpg).
I hope I am not coming off as insulting because that is not my intent. I am just saying big engines are a thing of the past. I had a 2007 Z06 Corvette with the 7.0L and it was stupid fast as OEM. It took me awhile to realize that there is a reason GM went smaller. Technology beats displacement.
I would like to see a builder put the 3.5 HO Eco in an Early Bronco. Now that would be impressive.
