Being the engine is tuned for long life in severe service truck applications I am sure there is a little more left in it. 450/500 should be possible with free breathing exhaust, intake, tune without much issue. I bet a cam could send those numbers up 100+ with very little effort.

With the engine configuration and the simplicity of the design I don't wee why a non-ford controller would be much of a challenge. Looks like a very simple engine to control. IF Ford doesn't release a controller very soon, someone else will.

The 7.3 gasser is a big block comparable to the old 460. The racer 460 is a stroker Boss 5.8 and is comparable to the old 5.8 which is slightly bigger than our old 302/5.0. The Coyote is bigger than all the above due to the width of the cammer heads. They all can be squeezed into an EB. With various amount of work.
One of these days the 7.3 gasser will show up on the web with some dimensions and weights which would be good. It was designed to replace the diesel for use in superduty work trucks so I would expect the weight to be up there. Of course I would not expect to see any aftermarket parts for the HD truck motor. And I would expect it would need to use the heavy duty trans as used for the diesel.
Hard to beat a 408/5.8 stroker which we all know is a proven success.
Prove me wrong and show me some dimensions weight and other specs for all to compare.

I give it 6 months after they hit the lot that Holley will have a stand alone system for it. Architecture is very similar to that “other” existing platform so it’s not a far stretch. Although with the simplicity of the factory system for that “other” platform I have never understood the need for the aftermarket stuff.

Some of us are thinking of it to update the 460 in the tow rig as well. Double the potential power and 50% increase in economy. Probably very doable.

The 7.3 is not designed to replace the diesel, it replaces the 6.8 V-10 which was phased out of the F250/F350 market a few years ago, and will be phased out of the F450+ chassis. I really don't see it comparable to the old 460 at all.

Was just looking at a comparison to a 9.5 deck height (351W).
Bore is 4.22 vs 4.00 and that works out as the rough tape measure they were using was showing about 1" longer than a small block.
Overall width at the valve covers is 2" wider (1" per side)
Height is ugly right now only because the only intakes are the stock truck intake or a few max effort HP custom intakes. Vertical manifold bolt pattern isn't going to the best. The oil pan will need some help from the aftermarket.
