Hey long time reader first time poster, I just bought a 1985 351w for my 68 bronco I was wondering what all can i expect when doing this engine swap? I have all the brakets for the motor but no wiring.

Right now I have a 302 on its last leg in the bronco (running a NP435 tranny) I also need a new clutch would I need one spific to the 351 or what? Thanks

Not necessarily the same clutch. the 351 likes an 11 inch clutch. Fly wheels don't interchange as different balance. If you got a fly wheel and clutch with the 351 then you can put it in the bronco if it's doesn't have a hydraulic release bearing. do you really want to install a used clutch?

If he is still running the original V8 in his Bronco, the flywheels will interchange. All 351s were 28oz imbalance - same as the 289 and old 302s. When the 302 went to a 50oz imbalance in the 80s, the 351 retained the 28oz imbalance.

My bronco had a I6 from the factory, the 302 in there now is from a 1976 f-250. And now I plan on buying a new 6 puc clutch I was just wondering which type to get.
