you gonna make dune season this year? one day at a time..
say hello to the boys for me.

Realistically it's still a few years from being done (short build season, not enough time & money to complete the work.)

Not sure if I'm going to get out there this year. I missed all of last season due to work conflicts, and since I don't have a truck anymore - I don't have a way to get around without hitching a ride all the time. (Tough to get paddles that fit my SVT Focus ;D ) It may be a couple years before I even get out there again....at this point I'd rather spend a weekend working on the truck than being at the dunes.

I think I'm now going for the CB record of longest running build thread.....I'm now at 6 years on the CB clock. (With 1.5yrs off the clock as well.)

True enough....I have unburied it from all of the crap that piled up on it over the last year. Maybe I'll roll it outside and snap a little Bronco porn.

Any new thoughts on the Coyote for your build? I have been looking at them pretty hard, but the cost of the crate engine and associated harness is hard to swallow for a running built truck in my situation.

Still not sure - I'm already fairly deep into what I have, but I could always sell it. Near as I can tell the bellhousing adaptor I have should work if I decided to go that route. It sure would be easier to package than my 03 Cobra motor.

At some point I have to stop changing direction in various parts of this build. That's the main reason I'm 8 years in and still no truck to drive. It's getting old.

I thought I had the record - but I was wrong. ;D You have me beat on both the CB clock and the total clock as well. I "officially" started on mine in June of '03. Not quite to 7.5 years yet. %)

September 2002 - I drove 54 hours non-stop from Detroit, MI to Ogden, Utah and back....that was the start of all of this.

When I started I was 29 and had no kids - I'm 37 with 3 & 6 yo boys and I'm hoping to at least get this thing on the road by the time I'm 40. Ugh. Work has prevented me from making any progress the last (2) summers being out of town most days/nights. I recently changed positions here at Ford so I'm hoping to make some serious progress starting in the spring. We'll see how that all goes.

I'm currently on the hunt for the remaining motor pieces I need for this Cobra motor. (Supercharger, intercooler, pulleys, front accessory drive, upper intakem, etc.) I'll be picking that stuff up over the winter.

I hear you. When I started I was single also. I have three kids now and way too many hobbies that take my time and money.

What kind of change? Just up the ladder or completely different job?

Why no progress in the winter?

Same department, same job (basically), just a different commodity. I was working on Seats, now I have Restraints (airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels, etc)

It's too damn cold here in MI to work on my truck in the winter. I could heat the garage and bundle up, but it just isn't any fun.

Found a screamin deal on all that earlier this week over on http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/terminator-parts-buy-sell-242/
Check it out, hopefully that helps you some. I'll try to find that thread for you

The plan was just go standard Eaton - hoping to find someone that went turbo on their Cobra and are unloading all of the SC stuff. I hate the idea of buying it piecemeal, but that may be my only choice. Looking for around 500hp. Whatever path gets me there is the one I'll be taking.

i went with the boss modular block and a stroker rotating kit so it's punched out to 324"

the car is out of the paint shop and i need to get it up here to plumb it and get it to the track. the bronco is taking up my small garage space so i need to get moving on the darned thing.

The 99 Cobra longblock that I have appears to have very low hours so I'm planning on leaving it as is. It's a Teksid block motor. The 99's had slightly higher compression than the 03's, so I'm hoping to get a little extra oomph with it tuned properly. Livernois Motorsports is local here in MI and they specialize in Modular motors. I think a little $$$ spent on professional dyno/tune time will be well spent.
