Front airbumps are in...

Made the bumpstop pads (9/16" thick) with the help of my friend on Sunday, finished them up last night and made templates for the mounting brackets. The pads will eventually be welded all the way around the perimeter. We just didn't have time to get it all done this last weekend.

Got the brackets made tonight and tacked in the front airbumps. They're in good enough to get going on the shock hoops. The airbump mounts will be completely boxed in when I'm done.

I got most of the engine cage built this last weekend, shocks are hanging from the top attachments, bypasses are attached at both ends, and I will be making the tabs for the lower coilover attachments tonight. I may be under it's own weight this next weekend (well at least until I chop up the rear suspension...)

There will be a second tube running just inboard of the shocks with a similar sleeve for the bolt to go through. Went this way to keep everything under the hood. The tops of the shocks are about 1-1.5" from the bottom of the hood.

Bypasses are mounted at an angle to rotate the reservior further away from the tire during full compressed/articulation/full lock.

Lookin' good, Scott. I was wondering if you were going to mount the shocks in double shear.

I'm quite sure that if I didn't, I'd snap them on landing.

I went this way with the mounting to keep everything under the hood (just barely) That inner tube was a bitch.

Driver's side lower coil-over mount is started and attached. I just need to box it in now.

14" c/o and 16" bypass...with safety factors at each end the bypass is hitting ~15 1/4" travel and the coilovers 13 1/4" Travel is in the 13.5" range.

I haven't put a driveshaft in the front yet, so I'm not sure where it will bind. (I'm thinking it's going to be around 13" like yours...)

It's under its own weight now and the upper engine cage is complete except for the front x-brace. Rolled it out of the garage for the first time in months. The front suspension is SUPER squishy....

About the same as in the pics above. Work got busy and I just had another child a couple weeks ago. As usual the Bronco takes a back seat to everything else.

I've started working on the rear suspension...I cut out all of the mounts and have started fabbing up the new leaf spring mounts (60" long Deavers) I've got a guy making my shackles, so once those are in I can make up the rear hangers/mounts at the back of the frame. I figure if I can get it ready for teardown in the spring, that will be soon enough.

With the new baby, I don't necessarily want to spend the money on the Bronco to finish it right now (well I do, but I won't), so it will just take a little longer. It's killing me. 4 years and counting and I've never even come close to firing it up yet. I'm just content knowing that once I have it done it's going to be real nice.

Thanks Edgar....baby Evan is doing great. (I saw you and your family at Sam's Club the other day & walked right by you, but I don't think you recognized me....)

Jeez...I wish. I've been adding up the $$$ of what I need to finish this sucker and to do it right there is no way I can swing the funds to finish it that fast (I couldn't get the fab finished and painted in time even if I did have the cash.) I'm not financing anything, cash only, so it'll still take awhile. I'm hoping to be able to get everything I need to finish the fab work this summer and be ready to tear it down and paint it next year some time.

I'm going to completely build the truck, then tear it apart and paint it to make sure I've got everything covered. (It will be so tempting to fire it up and go for a spin before I tear it down, but I wouldn't want to add all the fluids at that point. I was trying to get the chassis to paint this year, but I know I'd forget something and have to weld on it and screw up the finish.

I was putting the engine back together last night so I can start up the fab on the radiator and fender supports. I'm still waiting on my shackles, but once I get those I can finish up the shackle hangers and get it back on 4 tires.

Know anyone that needs a brand new stock style core support? I'm tubing mine, so I don't need this one I bought from JBG. I'll probably be posting an add soon for it.

Installing an Aluminum 15 gal fuel cell today. I've got my whole fuel system in a box and I'm working on getting the fuel pump/regulator installed.

Making progress, slow and steady progress....
