They are tough reliable little units and can be built to hold up to all kinds of different torques & horsepowers. You don't have to modify very much and can use mostly factory parts to install them.<br><br>If you need overdrive then a 1989 AOD with 4R70 or AODEW (wide ratio gear set). This trans is not dependant on electronic controls and is locked up mechanically in 3rd and 4th gear, hence the torque converter is working, mutiplying torque in the gears where you need it 1st and 2nd.<br><br>For simplicity and reliability for the long haul, I favor these two for the early Bronco.<br><br>BH
