I am trying to decide on which out of the two 1 Barrel carbs do I have rebuilt by Guaranteed Carbs.
Option one: The original that came on the truck from factory which has not been on the bronco since the early 80's. I pulled it out of the box that the original owner gave me. It has stamped on it HOLLEY? Did Ford put Holley on there 170 6 Cyl? The original had someone cut the bracket off were the accelerator cable hooks to it (I discuss that in the 2nd option). I didn't know they went with Holly, I have always seen Motorcraft or Autolite carbs.

Option Two: The carb that was on the Bronco that seem to perform good. Just needs to be rebuilt. It is a Motorcraft ( D0PF L A0A5). It has the plate welded to it on the side for the accelerator cable to hook to. It works, It don't look all that bad.
I am wanting to go back with a good all Original carb. The people at Guaranteed Carbs informed me they might be able to fix the side plate that was cut off the Holley and place a new back on.
Fill me in on the Holly carb and if Ford did place it on there 6 Cyl and if so your experiences with them. I also would like to know which out of the two you would perfer? This is my first 6 Cyl and I no nothing about the 1 Barrel set up.
Also, post some pic up of your carbs next to the area that the accelerator cable hooks up to make sure I don't have somersetting crazy going on.

For simplicity, what year is your bronco?

66 and 67 broncos came with the autolite 1100

68-74 broncos came with carter YF-1

From guessing from your description, the holley is a(guessing here) model that was on mustangs, granadas, etc. Later 1970s models to when Ford quit making the thriftpower sixes around 83-84.

I have one of these carbs somewhere and thought about using it, but the carter and autolite models are simply better carbs.

Like said above, 1100 for the 66', here's what you should have including the linkage.

You are correct it is a 1970 model.
So did the Holley a special item? My bronco does have the PTO driven winch and wounded if that might be the reason it may have the Holly on it.

Someone put the Holley on it because...
Well we have no idea why. It isn't a special order. It was just done. Why do people do most of the oddball repairs that have been done in the past? Cut/hack/weld/glue random parts.

When mentioning 1-barrel carb, I was thinking of the Carter YH and intake I have for a small block V8.

Hi, I'm not an expert but here goes. The early Ford 6 used a load o magic distributor with vacuum advance (no centrifugal advance), with a carb like in the pictures. The thing that looks like a power valve on the side of the carb is the spark control valve. The other carb mentioned DOPF.... Is a 1970 year carb. This will have a ported vacuum source for a later conventional distributor with vacuum and centrifugal advance. So depending on your distributor you should use the appropriate carb. Note the tag on the 66 carb. It starts with C6TF... The C6 is the year code.
You can visit the Ford six website and get the Ford Falcon Performance Handbook for expert and non expert advice. Good luck

What kind of dizzy do you have in that 170? The 67-68 had the loadomatic coupled with the Autolite 1100. If you are still running the Loadomatic with that Holley it may leave something to be desired. How does it run?
