Should have my 2wd, 6r80 here next week. Must have called over 40 yards, talked to dozens of Car-parts search yards and all I seemed to hear was "no, those are hard to come by" or they seemed to have over 100K miles...

I have never delayed a project this long before in my life. :(

I hope to be able to jump in and getting something done in a couple weeks when we get back from Moab Safari. I can't complain, we were at Sand Hollow at the beginning of March and now going to Moab. Been travelling which we enjoy.

Got some parts sold (wish they were all out of the shop- that was my goal, to make shop space! lol). Got a few parts in and a few more coming.

Received my F150 4x2 trans. Going 6r again. Came by train.... WOW are we spoiled with Amazon. Took 3 weeks. lol

Sold the cool Mustang bench seat and I bought some killer comfortable, LOW profile full neck/head protection buckets.

Trying to find a mock up sbf engine block... wow, nobody has a used one. $550 from Summit but that's a ton of coin for as often as I'd use it.

Hopefully by the middle of May I can start making some progress.

How did I miss meeting you at Sand Hollow? What Bronco were you in?

I was in my 46 yr old to me one... Here's a pic. I raced at the sand drags, ran trails every day, at the registration place in town eating ribs and hanging out! Wasn't trying to hide! :) Where were you! lol

I guess not in the same places you were LOL. We came in on Wednesday evening (and went to the registration bbq) and left Saturday morning - planned to ride Saturday but the forecast scared us away considering our 33 hour ride home so we hit the road with a jump start. I was hoping to meet you and see that rig in action. It's one of several that led me to build my crawler.

This sounds like a come on or something ;) but we probably should have exchanged phone numbers so we could have hooked up and said Hi since we're a couple of 1000 miles apart!

Nice looking pics- definitely some great action shots there!

I kind of wish I didn't have to worry about sheep metal Lol

We got stuck in a "blizzard" in Nevada. Fighting salt, corrosion and light rust on anything & everything even tho I spent 43 bucks at the car wash!

Finally got back to Shorty... at least I got started.

I had measurements on the floor and I realized I need more of them and more accurate measurements and .... so I did this.

I painted the floor under each critical spot that I need to record measurements. Just want to make sure that when I'm done sectioning both ends that all measurements are what they're supposed to be! Measurements will all be on paper also but I have put marks on the floor with a plumbob to locate measuring points.

4 sand bags to stabilize the frame while working on it. I will have reference points on those white spots so I know where all my measurements were taken so they can be transferred on to the new sectioned frt and rear pcs.

I spent an entire afternoon with a plumbob, felt pens and a tape measure.

Cutting tomorrow (unless life happens again).

As I was taking measurements and wandering between my two frames- (one has the Shorty body on it ) I realized that since I don't need the frame in front of the A arms to bolt anything to except two body mounts and a bumper I am thinking of widening it so I can stuff an appropriate sized radiator in between the rails. I need to run my 6r fluid through the radiator on this build since I need my AC condensor will be taking up valuable space. Also, being as my goal still at this point is to run positive pressure on the intake that I will need an intercooler somewhere also.
So SKINNY with a lot of surface area will be helpful. No body lift so "setting" the radiator on top of the frame rails is out I think...

:)

Yeah... only thing that might make that harder would be my DD strg box requirement. Could always mount a box on the inside of the frame but then since I'm narrowed my tires would hit... Hit the strg box now.

Need a different Bronco for every geographical area. Like tires- different set for every wheeling type!

I could use a couple measurements for locating the frt axle in relation to holes in the frame and/or the bottom edge of the frt crossmember- prefer both if possible!. I am pointing with the white tipped pry bar where it would be helpful to measure from. Thanks

(I dbl posted this)

Not my cup of tea.
That's OK.

I will make sure that on anything you post about your Bronco or any other "life" pictures/posts that I will remain neutral and not feel the need to comment when not asked. I'd expect this on FB.

Have yourself a day. :)
