I have a boogered thread on my spindle and rather than replacing it was looking to clean up the threads. Does anyone know the thread size so I can order a die for it?

Might just be better off trying to clean the buggered thread with a tiny pinpoint file. Maybe a triangular shaped one with a fine edge? That's what I've used on this type of thing before.

However, is this just a burr, a mildly skewed thread, or a really boogered one with some extensive damage?

Thanks Paul. I went to Napa and picked up a set of thread files. With about an hour if filing I finally got it to go. I appreciate it

Great to hear. Do you know what caused it in the first place? Was it just some damage from parts falling into it, or perhaps a loose nut getting pushed around?
Glad you got it fixed either way. Those files sure come in handy.

I am not sure. I assume I damaged it while I was disassembling it because it was not stripped when I took it out.
