engine cranks but wont start

I have more questions than answers.
Having similar cranking but no start issues… so you mean pull center distributor wire from the distributor cap that attaches to the coil and hold it just above the distributor center connection to see if spark tries to run down into distributor? This sounds dangerous as that’s a lot of voltage coming out of the coil isn’t it? New to these diagnostics… would love a detailed explanation so I can give this a go safely.


I just saw your thread and you have already used a spark tester and verified spark at a plug wire. This means that you are getting spark at the coil to the distributor and out on at least the plug wire you checked.

Your symptoms are different than the OP. Best to stick with your thread.
