If you can bring the cooler on wheels, I will fill it up. That way, as soon as there is a call for beer from under the truck, you can get there lickity split.

Planning to pick up the motor tomorrow night from Chris. Going to get it home and on the engine stand (borrowed from Brad) by possibly using the cherry picker loaned by Blane (what a Bronco brotherhood!!)

I will then swap over the intake, carb, water pump, etc from the old motor on to the new one. So, by the time the motor swap happens, the old motor will be pretty stripped down.

Stay tuned - F

Make sure yoiu have a way to attach the picker to the engine. I used a plate bolted to the carb intake. I'm sure their are many other ways to grab it. Just trying to save you some headache!

I picked up the loaner motor, cherry piker and motor stand last week and have been working to get the 'bolt-ons' (intake, carb, timing chain cover, water pump, etc) from my motor on to it. My plan is to get it all put together and painted over the next week or so and do the swap on Sunday 2/15.

I would prefer to do it Saturday, but being that that day is Valentines day....well need I say more.

Any Atlanta guys that can lend a hand, I am more than happy to accept your offer. Let me know if you think you can make on 2/15 and I will have the cooler filled.

Thanks - F

All right guys....rumor has it that the wrenching gathering is at Farrell's this Sunday, Feb. 15th. I can't make it due to the long weekend and going out of town with the bride and kiddos.

I'd imagine Farrell would love an idea of who can make it (maybe post here or PM him to get details??).

Can't wait to checkout the "refreshed" ride!

You sure you are not available because Farrell picked the coldest morning of the year to put the motor in???

I am heading over midmorning.

Anyone else coming to play?

I certainly could have picked a warmer day! I hope the cold does not scare folks away. I have 3 saying they are coming and a couple saying maybe. My wife is going to have lunch ready for those that show up in the morning. I will have some refreshments ready as well.

Thanks in advance for those willing to brave the cold.

Change in plans for me guys. Got a call about 5 this morning. My mom is in the ICU and it does not sound good. Hopping a plane to MD in two hours. Would much rather be wrenching in the cold, trust me. Someone post a video of Farrell driving that blue bronco around later. Good luck.

Hey Chris, sorry to hear about your Mom, hope it all works out well. Farrell made your old motor real purty!!!

It was 21 when I left home and 21 when I got there, Farrell's neighbor Mike came down and we jerked the old motor out, switched a few parts, made one parts store run and shoved the new motor in!!!! There were only a few "Oh shucks"!!!

That's when I departed, didn't want to be the blame for any bolts getting wrung off and I did tell him to put oil in it!!!%)%)%)

Thanks for all the moral support today Ben....and all the leftover donuts. I got everything bolted back on and realized I was missing the threaded coupler the oil filter mounts to. I boogied up the one on my old motor trying to remove it, so I ordered a new one just a minute ago and will have to wait for it to arrive.

So close now. - F
