I tried a really big dead blow hammer. Won't work, really stuck. I have had the problem since replacing the drivers side axle with one from Toms.
Will I loose my Guru status if I cant fix this little issue?

Mine were stuck on pretty good as well. I used a small propane torch and heated around the edge where the axle seats to the drum. Popped right off.

This is my "metal shop". It started out as just a dolley so I could move my Miter Saw and Stand around the garage without taking it down.

But then I got some more DeWalt Stand mounts to install my chop saw and drill press.

After a while, I figured I would add a place for the grinder and vise, so I created some "modular" mounts from receiver hitch stock, so that I could easily add and remove other things, like the compact metal bender. I also added posts to finally organize the bender dies.

Then I added some racks on the back side to better organize my metal scraps.

This thing has become like my personal Winchester Mansion:eek:. Next, I plan to mount a power strip, and some goose neck work lights.

Here is my work bench while I was still building it... Each corner has a reciver tube so I can slide in the Bench grinder, vice, or... The steel plate top is backed by two layers of 3/4" plywood to deaden the top and add stiffness. The legs are adjustable so I can lower it to work on large items or raise it for small projects. The wheels are mounted off center so I can push it up flush to the wall.

I used 3/4" angle for the shelf/top supports but if I were to do it again I would use a larger size.

As for that angle grinder spanner wrench, zip tie them to the cord. Much harder to loose and a reminder to unplug the grinder when changing disks (I still ignor my own reminder sometimes)

Yes, it was originally tied to the cord at the male end and it broke off. I just keep it in the top drawer of my roll-away for now..

It's not a tool but it does houses some of my carpentry tools. I built this tool box about 25 years ago when I was building houses.

Here are a couple of tools I made.

Beadroller, tipping wheel, and a rotisserie.

The tipping wheel is used to flange an edge after shaping.

I love that show it's hillarious! ;D

But back on track, this thread is great. Some of these tools really took some thought and skill to make.

I built this a while ago, and remembered this thread. Axle holding fixture, attached to my transmission jack. Allows me to attach it to the axle in the vehicle, disconnect from the chassis and remove. All work can be done on the axle, while being able to raise , lower, and spin it around. It's adjustable for different widths, also for front axles.

WOW........all I can say......some of these are awesome!!!!

I have about 100 handmade tools for bicycle related repairs & adjustments, but not a single one for a car!!
And worse yet....I'm actually an ASE certified automotive technician :-X

Engine hoist converted to light duty press. Easily converted back to hoist when needed.

I will have to remember that one. Copy it someday as well.
I am having a hard time figuring out what you did with the end of the ram though. It is hidden in both pictures. Could I get a better shot of that?

On a side note I have used the ram off my cherry picker and some huge cable ¾"? and used it to straighten a bent tube on an axle housing before. It had a simgle point of bend so the base of the ram went on that high spot. One end was wrapped around the pumpkin, the other around the tube by the spring mount. Looped through the hole in the ram. Pump away. Once the axle fit evenly (splines engaged and the bearing still out, even slack in all directions) the ram went back to cherry picker use. But I do want to do an air over hydralic conversion for the ram someday.
