Man I wish i COULD HAVE POSTED UP on about the 2 page of this thread. As I've said before I sold DuPont paint from 1966 until 1995. We were the biggest sells outlet in Texas. So We as a company & all our outlets sold a lot DuPoint Paint.
....
....... Now what I've seen in this Thread . If a color name has POLY at the end of the name .. This will tell you that it's a PPG or Ditzler paint color code..
.. The DuPoint Paint Code will be the same But the name of the color will be different ..
.. Poly in DuPoint means Metallic.. Poly was also used in Napa's 1ST paints Called Martin Senior.
..................
.... Now DuPoint's code R .. LETS say it was a Red color .. and Say Ditzler code R also a Red .. Both bucket of paint are supposed to match But they will have different names ...
.... Also with DuPoint colors.. I'll add a little more paint History. I think code R was Candy APPLE Red.. .. Caddy Apple Red no. 4737 .. If you put an ''L'' Behind it you were ordering Lacquer paint.... 4737AM. THEN THE stood for acrklic Enamel & the M WAS for more money in the pricing schedule. Very old paint .. the old sticky enamel it was 4737 DM. D was for Alkilid Enamel & M for more Money.
.. I was selling the Chroma One .. I really liked the Later Chroma one paint .. I don't remember it's call letter.
... Also I'd forgot Imron .. Now this was a great paint but It would eat your LungS for Breakfast. 4737 UM .
..............................
.. So I see lots of duplicate paints due to Dupont names & Ditzler names and the the other paint companys.
.. Now those PPG PAINT CHARTS posted are correct . for those year models .
.. Now we need DuPoint Charts posted to compare .. & I'm sure there are more chart with different names on them.
..................................
......................................... I'll bet that is just CLEAR as MUD to most of you.... & it was just as hard to teach to new Employees.

For those asking for the '77 paint chart, see below.

Representing the Y code Jade Poly.

BroncoMorris13.jpeg

I know of five official Y codes; not to be confused with the R coded Jade color.

Gallott73 Gallott73's Thread
Brawnko Brawko's Thread
Wheelhorse Wheelhorse's Thread
Fordfan Fordfan's Thread
Miker Miker's Thread

These are the only "y" coded Bronco's that I'm aware of on here. There are many versions of Jade and Poly, but regarding the Y code, I believe '77 and '78 were the only years offered on Ford Products.

Here's the color chart

royal maroon in all its terrible glory LoL

this was my first EB an 1970 "barn find" literally.

not sure that it helps but here it is!

So I'm trying to put this together but am in no way a expert in the field. Do you figure that every color on the ford truck charts was avaliable on a bronco? Can't believe how hard some of these are to find. I really want to find a royal maroon pic.
