swapped the cardboard out for some aluminum. got it all tacked together for a final test fit before I finish it up. I also made a stainless steel trim bezel, that will be polished, for the shifter boot I will be making later.

A little more done... got the rear axle bolted back up in, new axle seals in. need to clean up some of the rear brake parts then I can reassemble it all.
also finished welding up the shifter cover. starting to think I should do something for the transfer case shifter too...

I got the axles and backing plates installed so I can get it off the jack stands, need to push the Bronco over to make some room to work on my daily driver.
also figure I will get new drums to finish off the rear brakes when I get to that point. the new stock height rear springs have it sitting up a little higher right now. I forgot to take measurements with the old springs but it sat about level without the hard top on. maybe the front will come up a bit too with the new front springs. we shall see, hopefully soon...

yeah, when I pulled the drums off I could tell you had replaced everything but the shoes. but how come there wasn't even any brake dust in there?;D;D;D:p

How often have you driven it since you bought it? ;D

In all seriousness it is looking real good.

with the rear back on the ground it's time to tear apart the front. so, up on the jack stands she went and lucky for me every nut and bolt came undone without too much trouble. only had to use a little heat on the two big nuts at the pivot end of the radius arms.
I'm also starting to think while I'm at this point I might as well put my spare dana 44 together and use it in this one.

Ok, of course now that the front axle is out and with the frame sitting on jack stands... I need to move the Bronco again to work on something else.

so... I had some casters laying around and decided to whip up a rolling stand today. it slides into the ends of the frame rails nice and snug and it worked out quite well. rolls around nice and smooth, better than the cheap dollies under the tires. I also made it so I can slide a floor jack between the legs from the front to make it easy to re install the front axle. "labeled" it too, so I'll know what project it goes to.;D
I think I will make one for the rear as well, but a bit wider though to aid in stabillity. they will come in handy for future projects.

Listen to you-"whip it up". You make it sound sooo easy, like you're just gluing popsicle sticks together! Never fails, when something is no longer mobile you need to move it. Our shops are never big enough! Nice work Brian.
