I can't believe you left that 0.0002 burr on that through hole. So disappointed :)

since it seems to be so much easier taking things apart....

if taking steps backward is considered progress, then I guess I'm doing pretty good!
I did manage to stick the axle housing back under there again for some more figuring though...

So I've been accumulating parts and pieces for some time now and today I finally got around to putting some of it together. finished cleaning up the 9" center section and installed the new Truetrac to go along with the new 31 spline axles which I also assembled today.
also dug out the c4 again and put it back on the stand.....%)

Back to setting up the shock mounts....
I don't have any shocks yet so I found an extra long one to help mock it up. I tacked the lower mount on the axle housing and set it so I have 28" of extension at full droop, I should be able to utilize an 11" - 12" travel shock.
I've only done the driver's side so far as I want to check the clearance with the tire.

also picked up a new set of 5/8" U-bolts 3" wide to better fit the new axle housing. the ones supplied from wild horses are made for 3-1/4" diameter axle tubes, they even seem a little big on the stock early bronco axle housings as all the ones I've measured are just a bit over 3-1/8", and they would be much too big for the 3" tubes on the new housing.

I finished setting up and tack welding the lower shock mounts on. also fit the fuel tank in place and tacked the mounting brackets on.

(TIP....a motorcycle jack works great for this as well as installing/removing the rear axle, the two pads straddle the center section nicely)
