Ouch Tom... LOL!

I had the tires and wheels and they have a crazy offset cuz they are 15" wheels wrapped around 1 ton brakes. The narrowed rear really makes it look even further out.

I suggest selling those insanely huge flotation devices and put that money towards some quality used stuff on pirate. I see guys in your area selling good tires and wheels all the time.

Besides who needs flotation devices when you got a custom snorkel ;)

Have thought about selling them, maybe I will when it gets closer to completion. I have seen a lot of tires/wheels selling for fair price, but I have a long way to go before I get there. And who knows, maybe I will like it- these tires were broken in under a full size and flex & grip really well!

Made a little progress this evening...

I got the rear axle lower link mounts tacked up and the lower coilover mounts tacked on both axles where I want them. The rear mount will be a challenge in the future- I will have to get creative when changing brake pads as the lower coil will be slightly in the way of the upper caliper bolt. I could fab a mount off the lower link mount, but I think I will stay where I am now. Next is coilover hoops front and rear and before long- it may sit on its own weight!!

hmmm those lower link tab mounts seem like they should be flip flopped and angled to match the link angle

Flip flopped? The solid part of the bracket is on the bottom to protect the joint. Moving the joint to the other side would make the problem worse as the bracket would be angled outward.

The brackets are 10 degree angled and the links are closer to 20 degrees. I could have clearanced them more to add angle, but I don't think it's necessary. The horizontal distance between the frame and link mount gets smaller as one side or the other articulates. This will lessen the angle- increasing clearance.

Ideally they would match the links- I was going for more angle on the links for triangulation, so I pushed them out as far as I could

Looks great. Keep it going. I'm having a hell of a time getting back going on mine. Too many irons in the fire but they are getting done.

Spent most of the day with the in-laws and wifey for mothers Day. Got a couple hours while the kids were down for their nap and bent up a coilover hoop. Loving the air over kit- first bends with that and although slower than I expected- it works great!

Not sure I like the looks. I want a little angle on the front shocks, but it sits funny in the gap. I could tie this into the body structure. Any thoughts?

I was going to make my own and just use two tabs, but I think the pair of these were $20... Not perfect like your rig!

hardly perfect but thanks!

they do sit funny, id check out some koh buggys and see how they mount their coil overs and what not.

my hoops are completely integrated into the cage the tube front end and the crossover bar but not angled back just out

It doesn't look so bad... With those monster tires in the way you'll never see it.

I agree that air over hydo is slow, but so easy! You must have a larger degree die... All of mine are 110* which will yield just over 90 so I can't do a hoop that tight. Hind sight 20-20 I wish I had the 200* dies!

Keep it up! Can't wait to see this rig in person - top notch!

Thanks Robert, definitely Got the big die- not the first shock hoops I have built. I probably should have put together a plan for all this, but I am all about action- and performance. I am trying to avoid this being a 10 year project- instead- get it on the trail and continue to modify as I wheel it. Of course starting with a good drivetrain and all required safety features..

Got some more stuff in over the last week, but we had our 5 year anniversary this weekend. Had to get away for a couple days.

Lookin good so far. Do you have a target date to get this done by? ;D

I have set a tentative date of Super Cel next year... But I have a LNG way to go...
