Sorry guys. I didn’t mean to imply that any of us would be giving up our beloved EB’s, for the new one. Along with owning an EB, I have always owned a truck between EBs or at the same time. So if the new Bronco doesn’t do it for me. I’m perfectly fine with my EB and a buying a new truck. I do enjoy having a truck bed and I use it frequently.

I do hope the new Bronco turns out to be amazing.

I still think y'all will be pleasantly surprised. Sure it has some of the same shape as a jeep - both are designed for off road and will have similarities. But when you see one in person I think anyone familiar with early Broncos will not mistake it for a jeep. I will not be giving up my early Broncos for a new Bronco either, however for a modern daily driver with off-road credibility I want one! ;D

I tend to disagree with your statement that they will have similarities because they are designed for off road. My 76 looks nothing like a CJ nor is the undercarriage the same. Why does the new Bronco have to resemble the _eep? It probably has a lot to do with the laws for fuel mileage and since _eep already cracked that nut, why not follow.

More than likely I will not be dropping cash on the new Bronco but I will wait to see what it is like in person.

From what I have seen and heard so far I am not excited for the New Bronco. No, I will not be selling an EB to buy a New Bronco even if I did really like the new one.

I initially was waiting for the new Wrangler in 2018 to release the Diesel version, when that did not happen I purchased a Toyota 4-Runner. It's not stock, it's very capable and comfortable on the highway. Maybe at some point I will replace the 4-runner with the New Bronco??? The New Bronco may be more similar to the 4-Runner than the wrangler???

Bronco sport, that would be akin to the Jeep Renegade, and not the wrangler and not in a good way:

Wow, there are so many other brand offerings with better style and likely better quality than the Bronco Sport. What a shame it shares a name with the larger version.

Compared to the others in the category (i.e. the Jeep Renegade, etc.), I think the Sport is a much better looking offering. I hope Ford sells a ton of them although I'm not in the market for such a vehicle (as I would expect the case to be with most of us here).

Just like many people didn't/don't like the Bronco II, it's interesting to note that they outsold the FSB by 2X and even 3X in the model years they were made.

I had a Bronco II and I have to say it was a fun little SUV. I liked the grill on the earlier '80s model better than the last years. They say it was a rollover death trap, but I didn't notice. Funny they sold a butt load (1/2 million) but you rarely see one on the road now. I know this will probably get a reaction, but the BII was really the second generation EB...

They were all traded during the "cash for clunkers" era, then they were all crushed.

I always like them, actually looked for one a while back to add to the stable.

Agree, they were very cool little rigs with a nice clean look.
But yeah, they lacked power (wrong time of life for power) but oh boy that turning radius!
You think an EB turns tight, then you get into a full-size Bronco and are shocked at how tight they turn. Then you get into a BII and it can literally turn inside of one!
Talk about maneuverability.

I had one too as my first car. Had a 4" lift and some 33's. Looked a lot like this one. Fun until it died at about 125,000 miles.
