Progress comes in bits and pieces, more by the ounce than by the pound. Tried on a new 'hat' 1729764388852.jpeg a while back, a safari top I built a bigger while back. https://classicbroncos.com/forums/threads/topsy-turvy.316442/ Deciced that now is not the time for safari, so stored it away at ceiling height, along with a 'gangsta' top that's in the works. 1729765108385.jpeg The main reason to try on the safari top was to final fit some pieces of the family cage 'cause I want to get to 'done', though that may be just a theory. Moved the horse back in and back out of the twice, once straight back and forth, and once turning it around for a different view of the stable. 1729765628614.jpeg One of the in and out trips was for the purpose of lifting the cage out 1729765819903.jpeg in order to clean it up and be closer to 'done'. 1729765998801.jpeg

Funny how some mindless tasks can be quite satisfying! Worked on the family cage for a few hours this afternoon in order to final-fit it Wednesday +/-. I'm not disappointed in how it's turning out, assuming, of course, that it will fit okey-dokey. I want the final color to be the same as the rims.

There's been bunches of two steps forward, one (or more) steps back here in beautiful west Michigan. And, speaking of two steps, that's how many I installed on the horse today. Carr brand, 1730940015881.jpeg the maxipad ssize. Made some plates 1730940149646.jpeg and ssome rectangular tubing 1730940307777.jpeg inorder to make 'em work 1730940565959.jpeg by fastening them to the inner rocker panelss. 1730940766697.jpeg Like this. 1730940840740.jpeg Like my dad would say, "Good enuff for the girls Jr. knows". Yeah, 1730941216040.jpeg I reckon so. 1730941355210.jpeg

Inch by inch, Mark, inch by inch. Little more progresss today. Remember just a bit ago, when I mentiond having to 'final fit' the roll cage? Today (and probably tomorrow, and maybe the day after) was the day. Backed the horse out of the 1731019998976.jpeg stable and onto to the ashphalt pasture and moved the cage out there also. 1731020185140.jpeg Grabbed my neighbor and buddy Mark to help line up part A with part B. Yeah Mark, that's the spot. 1731020365990.jpeg All this fussin' and fittin' and finigallin' came about becausse when I test-fit the safari top, the Bronkenn-inspired front member interfered with the windsheild connector so that the top would not settle in place like it was designed to do. (Read "Howard-ized"; any actual 'designing' that ever occurred, occurred only in my noggin.) So this is where I'll tack weld the front part of the cage to the windsheild part. This is how close the pieces are now. 1731021285404.jpeg And this is about how it will look when installed and top-less. 1731021420778.jpeg Gotta put some paint on it yet, I'm thinkin' the color of the rims. That's it for now.

that looks perfect, have the same nerf bars laying around in my shop, started several times to try and install them, this looks like the best fabrication idea with durabilty in mind, I still go in the woods with my bronco and always worried about tearing them off or getting hung up in the mud, thanks for the pics, ill install them and send pics,
