I have the pressure hose leaking on a bronco steering gear box. were there 2 thread sizes? Only one size? The hose tightens up but the threads feel sloppy.

it's just that my pressure line is leaking around the threads. I have pulled it so tight that It may strip. can't believe it will not seal

The seat probably has a nice ring around the hole from previous tightenings. That's where the seal is made. Pull it out and clean up the surface. Watchout for the flapper and spring.

I have had enough flappers and springs lately. I will inspect tomorrow.
