Hope you didn't miss the rainbow bridge just outside of Riverton.
That is about all we have to offer in the way of Route 66 here in Kansastan.
right behind the Bronco

So when do you estimate you will be in New Mexico? WE have been close to 100 for the past few days... but the humidity is single digit....but the sun and the UV really burn through at 5000 feet+ elevation. If you need maintenance or a breather, I am 1 mile north of I-40/66 on the west side of Albuquerque.
as promised. one is just for you Tim
I live just off rt 66 in Rowlett tx. If you stay near me tonight, swing by for some adult beverages!!
Left EL Rino OK this morning headed for Texas. was going to stop at the OK Route 66 museum but it was closed, took some pictures from outside, Was going to stop at the national Route 66 museum in Elk City OK, it was closed also. That's what we get for traveling Sun. morning. We saw some cool sights the last two days, round barn, pops a place that sells vintage pop and pop from around the world. At one point today we were traveling a frontage road next to the original road which was closed. we decided to get on the closed portion and drive it for a while. we had to go down the ditch to get to it. lots of dead and downed trees and barely one lane, didn't stay on it long . Made it to Texas today and are staying at the Route 66 inn in shamrock Texas. had a great steak at Big Verns. heading out in the morning with no particular plan.
FYI, Route 66 doesn't go anywhere near Rowlett. OKC would be the closest portion of Route 66 to anywhere in DFW.
I got myself a rattle snake in OK near Texas.
I have only seen one classic bronco on the trip so far and that was in Joplin MO, the guy waved. Today we have officially logged 1000 miles.
more to come
