Just a thought...how do you plan to mount the full width D60? Depending on mounting and how much lift the pumpkin can get in the way if you are not carefull.

I used extended radius arm mounts and used a '78-'79 HP60 that was shortened to around 65" I think. Not sure what they are stock. Then I got a 14B out of a GM cab and chassis dually. These come 65" stock. My opinion is the 14B is the best axle you can run in a rear. Slap some disks on it is easy not to mention cheap and saves a ton of weight. If the ground clearance is a problem you can easily shave it and have more clearance than a D60 rear with a ton more stength. JMO.

Well a 14 is good if you are running a F350 with 44's
On a EB a set of 79 F150 axles are fine, need 4.11's tho

I have a set of axles under a 79 F150 with C6 & 205 Tcase
Complete for $500 on JBG site.

If you go 60's you will never break anything unless you run 40 boggers & go crazy the 79 D60 is the best one to get because of the extra length on the short side shaft. A Corp 14 is the best but pretty heavy too.

I've seen several rear D60 shafts break on the trail, and they weren't under an "F350 with 44's." I've seen one 14B shaft break on the trail. I agree that, for the wheeling most EBs see a built D44 and 9" are enough. That doesn't mean they're fine for some of us. ;)

I run a pair of 60's on my truck on 44's never broke the rear yet. Pretty baddazz with 5.13' & 600hp 472.

I'm running a full width 90' D60 up front and a stupid wide D70 out back. You think the D60 drags, lol, it's got nothing on my wide D70. I've got a narrower D70 that I just need to swap my hubs and brakes over to, but I don't need to do that yet. I'm running on 37" tires.

One of the best advantages to full widths is the leverage on the springs - it's like in-boarding your springs for a LOT of articulation.

It would have gone further, but the tire is throughly planted into the inner fender.
