Did VA screw up? Yes, but did they do something horrible that falls out of the world of an honest or even a stupid mistake no I don't think so.
To be fair, we have not figured out who to blame for the COD. Or how it happened. To add to this story, we were notified by UPS that we would be getting a COD package from CO. the next day, the same day that jbregar got a notice on his door that he had a COD from VA waiting at their office. In all the time VA has been shipping their part of our A/C systems they have never sent a COD. Obviously something got screwed up someplace.

Yeah... this whole thing is really really odd. I suppose there's a chance that UPS screwed it up, but where would they have gotten the $753.24 number? Declared value?

To update this. It was Vintage Air's fault and it seems like an honest mistake. They're re-shipping the stuff they sent COD.

The power steering pump should also be on the way. Hopefully it doesn't arrive with a COD. :)

Chuck handled it with aplomb like I knew he would and I remain a satisfied BC customer.
