Were all bulkheads bolted in, none ever welded?

On U-14's and others that came w bulkhead were they 100% bolted in? Question is because I talked to a guy at a car show yesterday and he says he has an old Bronco he might sell. He's not a "Bronco guy" but he picked this one up about a year ago and described it as having a half-cab top. He wasn't sure if it's a U-14 or U-15 VIN but also said it had a welded in bulkhead and that it has the holes on top of bedside like a U-15 would have. I'm planning on going to look at it when I can, he's about 90 miles away. My main question is "were the bulkheads ever welded in on (maybe) the U-15's that came with them?

But if you want to ‘simulate’ the bottom being welded in, just run a heavy bead of clear silicone caulk between the bed and bulkhead before bolting it in. I can assure you welded would be an easier fix!

U15 wagons can have the bulkhead. I think it was either an option, or what you got if you did not option the back seat.

There is a description of the bulkhead at the bottom left of this ‘66 data sheet.
