I got the call from the body restoration shop this week. Scheduled for media blasting May 3rd. It's been a long wait.

Put the batteries in them and fired them up for the first time since November. Winter is nearly over here in Ontario

After 7 months of waiting for warranty on a Ford Perf engine... (yes, last Sept) Ford is having Mahle make custom pistons to fit the block they overbored.
I lost 7mo and now have to wait 2 more months for new pistons THEN I have to have it finish honed and I will complete the build.

Frustrating?? Doesn't begin to explain it.
Missed Sand Hollow wheeling & Moab wheeling and of course 3 mo of snowbashing!

Holy shit! Can't believe that movement on the piston. Did they break in that engine before you picked it up?

I guess I just assumed it was a crate engine, but probably not.

another edit, lol. Just read your thread, wow, can't believe the delay by Ford Performance. That sucks you had to miss Sand Hollow and possibly more this year.

Thats

That's 13K miles on their "once size fits all" boring/honing numbers for two sizes of pistons in one bore size-Mahle engineers couldn't believe what was going on.

This is the straight scoop... not one of those "wait till ya hear the other side of the story" stories.

More in my build thread but not much.

Not whining, just do some research and don't buy Ford Performance as the other manufacturers parts they use are top notch in their products but who knows what or why they spec'd some of the things they did??! :(

would definitely be an issue and hard to deal with if you're a wheeler and hit all those spot regularly :( hoping to get mine out a little more in the future
