Started out late this morning:
Put a 2WD 6r80 back together for my Shorty build
Worked on 14 bolt rear spindle and will replace with a new dual seal Caddy seal
Dropped my DD/crawler 6r80 pan, pulled the leadframe and valve body out in prep for frt pump work
Removed both frt fenders and will weld stress cracks that are beginning to show back at the door post
Called and hopefully can pickup my ORI's in person from Jenson Bros Racing in SLC on my way to Moab
Sand gets everywhere!! THe connector pic is the wiring harness that plugs into the 6r. It was packed. lol
Good day overall

So when Ford Performance finally sends my block, pistons and rods back to me that they've had since November I'll be ready to drop it in.

Replacing the "consumables" of a 6r. Certain parts on these that you should replace when you get a used one. Mine only had 40K on it but it has probably double that now so I figured this was the time to potentially ward off any issues.

I reinstalled a seat that I had repaired. I've had early 90's Miata seats in my trail rig for many years. The driver's seat base door-side bolster finally gave out from me climbing over it all the time! The seam ripped and the metal frame was right against the fabric because the foam had deteriorated. I really like the seat so my first thought was to get them reupholstered in marine grade vinyl. The quote was $500 per seat! Plan B - just get it repaired and new foam for the bolster! So for $150 it got re-sewn and new foam added. Not cheap to repair a used seat but a lot less than 2 new seats!

I swapped seats and now the repaired seat is the passenger seat.

Ford Performance shipped my rods back this week and I received my block today-only took 7 + months. We first started warranty discussions last Sept. They asked for my rods and pistons in Nov and block in Dec.. FP overbored the block by over twice what Mahle specs. Long story but Mahle confirmed all this.

So my block is missing parts and I have the pics of the parts on the block when it left my place AND there is water (not coolant) inside the box that FP truck freighted my block in.

You probably don't need to ask me what I think of Ford Performance, their products or customer service.

If you want a summary of how it played out it's on my build thread. The cardboard outer box is not damaged but you can see the water in the bottom of the pic. How could they screw this up to? Can't wait to see if the pistons they ordered to fix the problem they caused (Mahle engineers verified this) and see if they are the correct size and design. I still have to finish hone the block to match the new pistons they sent to corrrect the problem they caused by overboring it. Buy all new parts (except pistons and crank) to reassemble and having a working engine again.

Installed a new stock style hood from bronco design. Very nice product as always. Installed a hood liner to help quiet it down a bit. Also wet sanded the hood to dull the finish so it blended in with the rest of the truck.

Snowed in! So a good garage day. Swapped out my H4's for LEDs. I was having issues with my headlights going out after the light bar is on for an extended time. I'm hoping the LEDs have less draw and won't have this issue.
