I installed a garage door opener in the Broncos two stall place. Makes it easier to get it out for a drive. So we did!;D

Finally got some decent sized rubber on it! Been running around with 225/75's (measured 27.5") since I bought the bronco and it looked pretty silly with the 3.5" suspension and 3" body. Was going to go 35's but got an awesome deal on a set of 33x12.5 that only had 500 miles on them.

After we got done hiking Gridley Trail, she wouldn't start up and had intermittent power to the fuel pump with the key in the run position. I found the bad wire by accident when I jiggled it: the culprit was badly worn and cracked wire going from the hot side of the starter solenoid to the starter relay. We went home, barbecued, then came back later with some tools. Did a couple electrical checks, replaced the wire, and she fired right up. I guess now would be a great time to do a complete rewire... on to the next project!

Present: '69 4.1L I6, Aussie 2V, Weber 38/38; Up next: CI Headers, Dual exhaust

about to take delivery on a 69 Bahama Blue Bronco. Contemplating a chrome roll bar. thought it would really compliment some of the chrome trim on the car

Took me a few days of off and on working but my Explorer serpentine swap is complete.

Hey, congrats on the new purchase there rardist! And a Bahama Blue one to boot? One of my favorite Bronco colors. Partial to green ones myself, but that Blue Grabber type color is a perfect complement.

I agree chrome looks good with Blue, though more so with the darker irridescent blues than the lighter (or more medium?) ones like you have.
However a cage is not necessarily the best thing to have chromed. Probably won't hurt, but the plating process does weaken the metal especially at welded joints and such.
Not sure if the chrome on the tubes will be an annoyance or not, but I know I don't like the chrome steering columns for that reason.

Good luck. And post pics and updated info when you take delivery!

Took a leaking transmission cooling fitting apart and hopefully fixed it. Installed front and rear bumpers on my modified frame horns. Then wiped six months of dust off of it. New distributor arrives tomorrow by noon and hope this fixes my no spark issue. Leaving in three days and I still haven't driven it yet...

More work on the inside rear of my bronco. Based on reviews I picked up some of these awesome rubber floor mats from WH. They were so perfect I had to look into getting a matching rear mat. Thanks to WH I managed to score a large bulk piece for the rear section. It arrived as a large 4' by 5' piece in the same material as the front floor mats. I was originally going to trim it to fit in-between the wheel wells, but after seeing that it would fit perfectly around the wheels wells I went for the custom fit. I love it so much I'm going to lift the roll-bar so that I don't need to cut around them.

Anyone interested in one of these I highly recommend it. Would make great protection for those with carpet installed.

Of course after taking this pic I decided it was time to remove the 80's roll-bar padding! Looks even better now!

That looks great Jane!

Fitting is holding that I fixed last night. That's positive.

Cut the lowers off the rear adjustable spring perches so they don't hit and installed the rear limiting straps.

This all after my FIL and I removed the distributor to install the new one that arrived from Summit today only to find out they sent me a 302 distributor... New 351 distributor arrives tomorrow. We leave the following day for 10 days at the dunes and it STILL hasn't moved on its own power. The engine is just sitting there waiting for tomorrow.

Got started on three-point seat belts, going to be a nice change. Lap belts suck..... May go with a welded sleeve, just not to sure I want to mess with welding blankets, and paint. Building a slow going trail rig, not a desert racer.

I would just cut around the bar and leave it bolted directly to the floor.
Otherwise you need to undo the bar any time you simply want to remove the pad for cleaning or whatever, and you don't really want something compressible and flexible between the bar and the floor.

Drove it for the first time in over six months. I was a happy camper. Still need to figure-out a lot of things but it moved on its own power!

First drive in early 2015.
