Love that last pic! It's like the bronco and the engine are looking at each other saying "you've GOTTA be kidding me! "

That's funny, it's exactly what I've been thinking!

The more I think about it, the less I want to put the coyote in right now. I just want to get it done and driving. I think the coyote will set me back at least 6months (I'm already 8 months behind even though I started 6months ago, lol). I really want to debut this at FFF this April. I might have my body/paint guy modify the inside wheel wells now, so if I decide to do it at a later date, it'll be that much easier. Still not decided, but that the way I'm leaning.

Sweet lookin build that you have goin on there! Gonna be one Hell of a Bronco with or without the Coyote.

The 302 is gonna look sweet in there just as well. Either way man nice truck and looking forward to your updates. Hopefully reassembly goes smoothly. ;D

If I could offer any useful advice it would be to finish things one at a time to keep things organized and fresh in your mind. Jumping around only manages to get stuff misplaced in my experience! Now Git'R'Done!

Great advice! I'm still finding odds and ends that I had to re-buy during the rebuild process.

Thank you, it's always nice to get a friendly reminder. I have everything written down in order of assembly. I still need to get a dry erase in the garage. I think Coyote idea is throwing me off a little, but I'll get there.

Small update...

Got the garage pretty well cleaned.

Ordered more parts from WH and Duffs. The bronco is heading down to Beach City Broncos (Mark' shop) to get its final sanding buff, minor touches and have the top painted on Friday. Should have it back on the 9th and then I can start r-assembly and axle teardown. I can't wait!

Man I can't wait to see the progress on your build. I love the idea of dropping a coyote into a bronco. Subscribing to this thread to keep up with the progress! Good Luck!

The coyote is going to wait. I started to feel like it was side tracking me in the build. It's in the corner of the garage awaiting its fate. I'm going to talk to mark about making the engine compartment mod, but otherwise it'll have the EFI 302 in it for now so I can get to driving it!

Mark had some free space/time at the shop, so the Bronco made its way down today. Unfortunately it's not ALWAYS sunny in so. Cal and I have no windows in it yet, so it got pretty soaked on the 2.5 hour tow. The bubble wrap is to protect the fresh paint from the not yet painted top. The top will be body color.

It's been a while... I picked the Bronco a couple months ago. Mark ended up doing a complete respray. Overall, I'm fairly happy. It still needs another color sand/buff pass and then hopefully it'll reflect/shine as I'd like. Got the sport trim, handles and vent windows on, but that's about it. The dash and some small parts weren't ready when I picked it up, so I couldn't do the wiring and some of the things I planned on finishing in December/January. The Lubr is on hold right now... I'm not going to be able to work on it for the next 7 months (out of town work), so I won't make any of my timeline goals for the build. I really wanted to have it ready for FFF 2013, but it will more likely be FFF 2014. I've also firmly decided to NOT do the Coyote install. I wan't to stay a little true to keeping it simple, but I think I'm already past that as well. On a good note, I bought another Bronco that I hope to make more of a beater/trail rig (if I keep it). Not sure yet if I really need two...

Of course you need 2. You can enjoy the 69 until this one is done. ;D

That's what I was thinking! Unfortuantly, I won't be enjoying either for a while, but I gotta pay for all this shit somehow%)

At least the '69 is a running driver, so when I come home from time to time I can take it for a spin...

I may have missed it, but what color did you end up with exactly? It's a beaut!

Just saw a Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary edition Jeep on TV in what I believe to be "Anvil" that I immediately though would make a perfect "Bronco color" for our EB's.

2013-rubicon-anniversary-gallery-06.jpg

Looks like a standard gray in the brochure's color chip, but way more blue in the images and on TV
Looks like another good one.

I'm going to try to make up a green color that has similar characteristics. But that's a ways off yet.

Thanks Paul. I do like that Jeep blue! Mine is a Land Rover color, Aries Blue. I wanted something that had a classic look and could be mistaken for a stock color.it also goes really well with the silver grill and sport trim. At least IMO, haha!

No I totally agree. Great color.
Is your exact shade still the Aries Blue from Rover? Does that mean that the darker version you pictured on the first page is also a Rover color? Or did you make up a variation on the color instead?
Just more curious than anything else. They're both good choices for an EB I think.

And I meant to mention too, that with the silver grille looking so good, what about painting the top to match the grille color? Instead of the white I think you mentioned?
Although white would look fantastic with that blue, for the top I think that either the silver, OR the same blue as the body, would work even better.

The top is now body color. When I get back to LA I'll update the photos. The current color is Aries blue. The color I had originally planned that is on the military defender is also a rover color. I had to have a paint chip shipped to me from the U.K. because it was a special order color only not available in the US. Once I had it in hand it was too grey for me for this EB.

Small update, more parts ordered. I'm also heading home tomorrow so I'll get the axles rebuilt and hopefully get the truck fully wired. Pics will come as soon as I get home.

I pulled the trigger on wheels and tires this week but it's takes 6-8 weeks for them to be built and delivered so i won't have them till early september but I'm excited nonetheless. Also bought my champion radiator (I had a used one but decided to buy a new 5.0 version), Ron Davis full shroud, LED taillights, Hellwig front and rear sway bars, a deep sump pan for the C4, my remote/push button start (with RFID door unlocking), drilled and slotted disks and a bunch of other little stuff.

Buying the wheels and tires definitely hurt the pocket, but I figured I've gone this far why skimp now. I will say some will be disappointed when they find out I bought 18's, but I think those same skeptics will be pleasantly surprised when they see them on. Either way I'm building the truck as I see in my head, for me by me. I also have a second set of 17" steels with dog dish caps/beauty rings that will eventually get KM2's or LTB and will be my "trail" wheels.
