Bronco stalling on highway and won’t restart.

First thing to check for is spark. Start at the spark plug and work your way back. Carry a old spark plug and a multi meter. Generally electrical if it fails hot but works after cooling down. Check and test. Do not throw parts at it Since you said it just quit, I don't it's fuel related...

    Distributor Advice/Suggestions

This works. Make sure you put it on a heat sink and use the correct "grease" between the two. A junk dura spark housing works. Back up takes up basically zero space.

    Bad Alternator?

As mentioned you are going to need a multi meter to isolate the problem. You just got it from the paint shop, was it painted under the hood?? Check.ground connections. You can check your parts store and see if they have a alternator tester and battery tester. Be aware that the battery has...

    Windshield install

I've used 16 gauge wire or whatever you have that is close. The outer coating helps it slide.

    Trans & Engine Build...Atlas???

While I agree with parts of most of the responses what you have described is what I will answer. You can rebuild what you have with a couple upgrades and be happy. You can put a 5.0 in stockish form and be happy. You can put in a stroker and after chasing the parts upgrade trail you might...

Check out rim locks. You can make a cheap homemade version. While not great it's better than what you have.

No factory transmission floor shifters. Fairly common to convert to floor after the column starts giving people trouble.

Driving a Bronco - Tips and Advice?

DVOM and test light. A few basic common sizes (wrenches and sockets) hand tools and screw drivers. Magnetic tail lights in case you need to tow it. Depending on what you have recently worked on and things you are concerned about would help decide what you need. Some others gave suggestions...

    Starter not engaging the flexplate

Here's your clue. You said it usually starts fine. That means the starter is engaging the flex plate/flywheel properly. Bad alignment issues or wrong components should show up pretty much every time. Sounds to me that the Bendix drive isn't working properly, either from low voltage or a bad...

Clearance between header tube and starter housing

No worries. I thought that is what you meant but wanted to be sure . To Paul's point I've made more than a few heat shields for starters and as much wiring as reasonable possible. My firebird just doesn't have room for even a heat shield. Not into header wrap. Starters are cheaper than...

    Automatic transmission problem...

That is why I said SOME situations at the very beginning. Going up or down kicking out the front or the rear has advantages in the right situations and every vehicle may give you a somewhat different response. Definitely not a one size fits all.

    Automatic transmission problem...

In some situations going down hill kick the front end out of gear. Are you sure your converter is at the rated RPM? Curious, what brake system you are running and tire size.

Clearance between header tube and starter housing

On my great phone that appears to be the bell housing not the starter housing. Semantics to some, until you buy the wrong part. While it can transfer heat to the starter it has quite a bit of heat sink area. With that said the exhaust should not have direct contact with anything...
