Before I rebuilt the 302 in my 76, I had real ow oil pressure when idling on a hot day. Someone, probably on this forum, said I was dumb for using a Fram filter. I switched to a Motorcraft and my oil pressure went up by 20 psi.

My 76 had a J shifter, but I had the same problem. I always had a tough time getting it out 4 low. I tried backing up, and jacking up but it was always a problem getting it out of 4 low. I installed a twin stick shifter I bought from Tom's and it works much better now.

My heater has a new core, new hoses and a new heat valve. With the engine fully warmed up the core feels cold. I am assuming there is an air bubble in the core. What is the best way to get the air out?

I have long had a problem with my C4 leaking. I have a B&M aluminum pan, and it appears to be leaking around one of the pan bolts. Can anyone recommend a good gasket? Can I use a little silicon on the gasket. Any help would be much appreciated.

Spar varnish is marine varnish.

In most states it would be illegal to tow a truck as heavy as a Bronco with out brakes on the towed vehicle. For good reason too. If you have to brake hard in a turn, the towed vehicle will try to push the towing vehicle's rear wheels off to the side.

The varnish you want to use is Polyurethane Spar Varnish. Home Depot has it. It is designed for outdoor use. Even then you will probably have to refinish every two years or so in sunny FL. Make sure you refinish it before it starts flaking.

Another consideration is where he lives. If it is in an "enhanced smog area" then it will be tougher to pass the test. In those areas it will have to be tested on a dynamometer. Good luck! I don't think CA likes classic cars.
