Power Steering turns right on it own

Time for a warranty or new rebuild. One of the seals is leaking in the spool valve, or it is assembled incorrectly. Unless…. You have hydro assists, the hoses are backwards on the ram.

Another one bites the dust.. :( alum...

With all of the failures being in the same general area I wonder if your getting some twisting motion on the tank between the hose, tube Suport and frame. I have the next size down of the unit you are running and it’s been happy for over 10 years, and has been leaned on vertically enough to bow...

Sealing dipstick and PVC & oil fill access "better"! Prevent sand getting where it shouldn't be. Thx

    I’m no help…. I can’t believe you’d throw sand like that, that’s not your style 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

UK Bronco Needs Help (build thread)

They are going to rub without modifying the wheel wells and inner fenders, no matter what axle you run with 37's without extreme amounts of lift, which of course does not help handling, getting in and out of it and general usefulness. Lower is always better. Stout22's is the narrowest I've ever...

Old school traction bars and axle wrap

This looks like a good opportunity to add the upper control arms for that link suspension you’ve been eluding to😉 Not to steal a sale from WH…. But Barnes 4x4 makes a nice small truss for the upper control arms that is stout, and small enough to not be miserable to work around. That would...

UK Bronco Needs Help (build thread)

That’s a nice start! Lots of questions there, I can help with a few. Axles are completely your choice, I’m a link and coil spring guy personally. Coil overs are nice but they come with their own complications. Cool springs last for decades and a regular shock is much easier to obtain and if...

I have a 1974 Bronco. The rear upper shock mounts have a curve to them. Is that normal, or should they point straight out from the frame?

in my experience, normal. the shocks do not mount perfectly vertical either.

Ugly patterns in HP fronts seems to be the norm. Never had one be a ln issue or make noise.

    SEMA 2024

Motech is the key, they have phenomenal capabilities/adaptabilities with engines and transmissions. For my future engine swaps that are not bare bones stock, Motech will be my go to. I’ve had the opportunity to work with it some on a few race cars recently, it is an unbelievably adaptive and...

Another one bites the dust.. :( alum...

A seam failure I’d fix, my debacle was core to tube failures, so far so good, been close to a year since the last one. I’m with you, another issue and I will find an OEM one that fits. Mounting was a big part of my issues, I know, so I didn’t even try to warrantee them.

    Old and new alignment numbers

The caster numbers are fantastic, as long as the ujoint at the pinion doesn’t bind it will drive great. As for the camber, I prefer 1-1.5 degrees, them not being equal isn’t a deal breaker. As for the caster I like them being equal, roads have changed over the last 50 years. They have gone from...

    Theft

on most GM’s cut the oil sender and the engine dies like it’s upside down and doesn’t have oil pressure. On everything else disarming the fuel pump relay makes more sense.

Old school traction bars and axle wrap

I’ve made the ladder bar style work and live. Under a bronco it is hard to get it long enough to work well. And it has to be 3x heavier than you think. I used 2” x .500” wall DOM with 1-1/4x1 high strength hiem joints with 3/8” plates on the housing to get it to live. I can also say if you put...

    Damaged Dana 44

There is missing material in that approximate location quite often, not all but some axles. The seal goes in the machined area deeper in the tube, it is all good.

    Gear brands. Never used Motive

I like them, typically they are quiet and have never had one hard to set up. Motive and USA Gear are my go to. Second is OEM (spicer, AAM, Ford) third is Yukon, after everything else, Richmond.

@Torkman66 is correct. It is not damaged.

The Tricky EcoBoost Early Bronco Build

Chomoly ones are fine, been running the same ones for probably 15 years. Same with steering. I have crashed it hard enough to rip the track bar mount off the frame once.
