Best way to weld up rear end?

UPDATE: this truck does not see roads at all, is not even plated. For the woods only. I am going to lock the rear with a mini spool or welding, I just need to choose which one is stronger.

Best way to weld up rear end?

I have a stockish setup with 4.10s and 32" tires, open rear. I want to weld it or put a mini spool, I'm thinking welding might be stronger. Is it better to weld both side gears to the main case or to weld one to the cover? It seems that the way it all goes together you can't weld everywhere.

If you do this make sure the body is attached real well, cause if in an accident the body moves off the frame the cage can hurt you!

    Why two fuel pumps?

I think if you have an electrical inline as a backup the pumps should each have bypass plumbing with valves so you can close off the one you're not using.

18-19 advanced to run what is wrong?

Look closely at your balancer. When the engine is running does the outer ring wobble at all? Is the rubber cracked, bulging and / or missing little pieces? If the outer ring has spun a bit it can throw out the balance of your crankshaft which can kill the bearings. If the balance seems bad it...

Motorcraft 2150: metering rods get stuck at WOT

Motorcraft 2150: metering rods get stuck at WOT

I have a motorcraft 2150 carb, I took it apart, cleaned everything and put in a rebuild kit. Problem: the metering rods get stuck in the "up" position after putting the throttle wide open. They snap down when I poke them with my finger after. It also did it before the rebuild. Also my spare...

33x9.5 tires on stock wheels tippy?

I want to put 33x9.5s on my truck, and I'm considering using the stock rims so they don't stick out too far. Does anyone know how this handles on the road and highway, cornering? I plan to put in new poly bushings everywhere also. The stock wheels are approx 15x6.

    efi swap troubles

Double check all your grounds, and maybe try putting a few extra grounds here and there in the wiring harness, ecm, to the firewall etc. I think the fuel injection system uses some kind of floating ground that can get messed up if there is a difference in voltage at different places. How...

Anyone in Phoenix have Dana 44 Setup Bearings?

Another trick is you can heat up the bearing with a propane torch and it will just drop on to the pinion by hand, without a press. But don't heat it so much that it turns blue.

    Free manuals online?

I just bought a 1975 bronco and I need a service manual for it (I never worked on a 4x4 truck before!). Has anybody uploaded any shop manuals or diagrams online? I mainly need to learn the chassis stuff, front suspension. Russel
