I mounted mine next to solenoid also. (pic in my gallery) 5.0 Mustangs were mounted on fenderwell stock from factory. If you put it on drivers side be sure to have enough slack in the wire to compensate for engine torque! And it is best to run it seperate from other wires and not bundle it with...
Great! Thanks for all the input. Since my tanks are in questionable shape and I don't have the $$$ for new ones this will take care of the return lines and the bad tanks at once and maybe give me a couple more gallons too!
Will 77 main and aux tanks fit in a 71? I am doing an efi conversion and noticed the 77 tanks have a vent hose I could use for a return line. The catalogs list stock replacement tanks up to 76 with a different one for 77 and I am not sure what the difference is? Thanks, David
Could be a fusible link; these are wires that are made to melt inside the insulation in case of a short circuit, etc and usually look fine on the outside. I believe there are a couple going to the solenoid and they have a tag molded onto them with an amp rating.
I mounted mine thru the firewall above the heater controls; not easy but great out of the way place! An old issue of 4Wheel drive and sport utilities had the conversion article with a template for cutting the hole and moving the heater temp cable. A picture of mine is in the new gallery...
I have a 3" "mushroom" bar on mine.It was a stock mfg. bar for another application but fits the Bronco half cab well. I like it for the beefier look of the 3" bar. It fit with no mods. I don't know what it was originally made to fit or which company made it! I got lucky and found it on sale...
My '71 had a factory trac-lock LS both front and rear. Front is still original after over 500,000 miles (of course front not locked in but maybe 75,000 miles since DD most of the time). Clutch pacs in rear replaced twice; blew up rear twice! Changed to Detroit locker and like it after getting...
Check my gallery! I am doing the EFI conversion with Mustang 5.0 HO intake and the Bronco valve covers. I am running roller rockers on 302 (actually 289) heads. The valve covers actually have a tall tube for the oil cap which is very close to the throttle linkage, but I was able to cut a little...
Make SURE #1 is on compression stroke! With valve cover off make sure #1 valves are closed/rockers even. If cover is on ull #1 plug and have helper cover hole with thumb while engine is turned by hand; when presure is blowing thumb off hole it is coming up to #1 compression stroke; I then set...
I used a '89-'93 mustang HO upper & lower with a 1" spacer in between. It fit under stock hood with a 1' to 1 1/2" body lift and throttle body to the passenger side. I used an earlier speed density harness and did the mass air conversion to it. Various other parts are from different cars from...
