Anyone have one of these still hanging on their '66 bronco passenger side firewall? If so, please post pics.

Great! I know this has probably been a past post. Just never researched before till now. Pics are much appreciated as I am trying to figure some of the coding out.

The first is my 66, the second is a 66 I sold that they screwed the tag to the firewall.

iwlbcnu, thanks for the pics. I amazes me that the ones that are literally hanging by the thread wire survived all this time. Never saw one screwed to the firewall before. Any chance of a close up on either one? I have figured out some of the coding.

Nearest I can tell, the "MIR" and "HTR" are for options such as rearview mirror and heater box. These were options. Also the "BSDP", thinking it meant bucket seats and dash pad. Interior trim options. Understand the rest of the codes down to the lower left where it says "WSW". Not sure at this point. One fellow bronco brother suggested white side wall tires?! Anyone have a clue?

Anyone Else with Buck Tags?

WSW....windshield washer??
Some 60's didn't have them was an option. ahhhhh the 60's

Ohio Bill, good call! That makes sense as I have heard there are some broncos out there without the washers and squirters. I believe Don Peroni's roadster is like this. Don, can you or Drew confirm this? Anyone else out there with other buck tags? Wanting to see other ones with other codes.

I don't have the one any more, it was missing the vin tag so i think they screwed the buck tag on. My tag is close to yours except it says SHROOF, doesn't show the DSO, and has a J.

Very cool!! I am assuming SHROOF stands for "short roof" since it is a U14. The "J" is your color code - rangoon red I believe. So do you have a windshield washer? WSW code for that? This is really neat about the SHROOF! Thanks , tim

I don't have a picture of mine right now, but mine says "LGROOF" "MIR" and "HTR". On the line above that, there are few other codes that I can't remember off the top of my head and I haven't really been able to decode. I'll try to snap a picture in the next few days.

My buck tag was screwed to the firewall right where that little brace runs over from the passenger side fender well.

Mine has the washer, what would the last W stand for?
I'd be more to believe White Side Walls. Mine is red, wonder why no DSO number?

I've had several over the years with these. My dad's 66 has it, but I can not get any pics right now since it is in the enclosed trailer in storage right now for the winter. I will look to see if my dad or I may have any on file.

Ours shows the heater option and the rare dual fender mount roadster mirrors (making it worth at least and extra grand! ;D LOL!)

My 66 has one. I just took it off and put it in the glove box a couple weeks ago because the wire was broken and it was about to fall off. Not a great photo but here it is before I took it off.

Drew,

Let me know what you can find out. That code for the dual mirrors is also one I have been wondering about. Anything at all, please post. Btw, can't wait to see the halfer. Been hearing about some detail from Don.

Not sure! Good question though! Maybe I can ask Kevin Marti or perhaps any other guru bronco brothers would know. Use to also call the "production" or "assembly line" tags.

Jeremy,

Can we get another pic with the flash off? And perhaps turn the macro setting on for a close up shot? Curious what is on that one. I did the same thing removing my tag when driving, drove me nuts listening it beat against the firewall. You can see the scare marks from it swinging side to side on the firewall. Also, I had the original hole that the wire fed through wear a slot though it. Have to flip it now or I would lose it!

Thanks, tim
