Great progress! Frame is looking great.
Funny the things you notice that you did not before. Like the extra long rear leaf spring setup. Pretty obvious when you stop to look, but I glossed over it before.
The windshield frame looks like a '69 without the hood latch thingy. But the wiper spacing looks suspiciously like the early vacuum wipers. Probably my imagination playing games with me.

Again, my memory playing games maybe, but that flexplate looks a little different from most (I think). What's it from originally?
And hopefully that the cooling fan is just a temporary fitment and not the one you're going to use. A 4-blade fan does not seem to be the current top gun in the cooling department.
Is it perhaps an original 6-cylinder fan from a Bronco?

I don't remember if you've spoken of the engine specifics here or in another thread, but a quick glance does not look like it was discussed here at any great depth.
Got some details on the build?

Thanks. keep the pics coming!
(so we can keep being jeaolus of your shop of course) (y):);)

The PO tried to stretch the wheel base but had no idea how to properly do it. SMH
I’m not sure about the windshield frame or the wipers but good to know from your quick glance. I’ll have to cross that bridge in the future.
The flex plate came on the engine, going to pull it and go to an 11” clutch setup and run a ZF5.
You’re correct the fan is temporary and just how I got it. I’m going to convert the front to an explorer front dress. I got the engine from a guy that had it in a 70s ford truck and cruised it around for a bit and yanked it out for something with more power. It’s got a fresh rebuild with less than 100 miles. He says it’s a 225hp build.

Are you going to cut and turn that SD60 now, or are you going to wait until you install it, set the pinion angle and find out that you have no caster. Then complain about why it won't stay in the road...and THEN cut and turn it?

You are in Reno. It snows there. If you want to drive it on the highway in the snow then set your caster at 7 degrees.

ZF and an Atlas should put your front driveshaft right around 25 (?) inches long. Probably want to figure out where you are going to clock that Atlas sooner than later. It is going to matter.

Love the build.

BTW, this one is ALSO a Chevy King Pin 60. Converted to driver drop by burning out the rosette welds, sucking out the tubes, machining a new seal bore, and swapping sides. I put 7 degrees of caster, and 14 degrees of pinion angle in it. I won't do another low pinion front 60.

Got the ZF5 stabbed in tonight. All new LUK heavy duty clutch parts, new bolts, BC Broncos crossmember. It’s a tight fit but pretty straightforward. Also since I was needing a new floor anyway we cut a bit of the old one out some more to help with the install.

Hell yeah, I love a good wheeler build, since everyone else is building ice cream getters and BaT queens. This is a very by the book Norcal build, not sure if you have cruised their forum or not. It used be a good source for more hardcore builds. All you need is a set of Lars Bars and I think you get a free 1 year membership... All the fun, I hope you guys keep putting out Broncos built to wheel and enjoy them on the great trails you have there. Keep killing it, we love a fast cool build that keeps us coming back for more!

Thank you!
Are those your 37's in the Pic? They look really big. What size wheel are you running? I just picked up this set of Xtreme MT2's in 40x13.50x17. Thinking of putting them under my Bronco...

I think you’re mistaken, this is an ice cream getter haha! Wait till I put the fridge/freezer dometic in the back. Who doesn’t love eating ice cream at the Rubicon Springs.
What are Lars bars?
Thanks for compliments!

I could go for an ice cream sandwich while floating around in a unicorn floaty right about now. Lars Bars are a DIY extended radius arm that Lars, the man, the myth, the legend, who lives in Norcal, designed some years ago. A fixture was made and passed around enough that the arms were dubbed "Lars Bars". A possible front suspension solution for you depending on what your plan are.

Those are 40” Maxxis tires for another build. I’ll be running some form of 17s haven’t decided on an exact wheel yet. But the bronco will also be on 40s, possibly the Yokohama MT.
HI, I listed the 40 inch MT2's in the for sale section. You will be 8 lug, so you probably don't want my 5 lug racelines. But I'm happy to separate them.

Have fun with your build!
