Howdy y'all.

I've got a '66 halfcab that I'm tryin' to restore to 100% factory condition. Can anyone give me a list of ALL '66 only options/specs? Want this thing to be totally stock...

Thanks!

Most things about a '66 are a little different.

Here are a few that are possible.

eyebrow grill
tailgate
t-case shifter
front seat frames
front seat covers
front hub lockouts
dash knobs
window crank handles

I am sure there are more.

look up a member named "gaspig" as I recall him doing the nicest '66 restoration I've ever seen. His was a roadster though, not a halfcab. I think there are things nearly impossible to find such as the driver side mirror and rubber boot around the transfer case shifter. Be ready to pay $1,000 for a nice set of '66 hubcaps. Also run a search for the same topic as I recall a very long list of '66 only aspects. Door striker location, keyhole location, bolt pattern along top of windshield, etc... But if you find the thread I mentioned it will have all the unique features.

This is the thread I saved. Not sure if it's the same one but has some info

We do have the '66 eyebrow grill, hubcaps (in PERFECT shape), hubs, dash knobs, window cranks and door handles. The passenger side door is '66, the driver's side door isn't. Bumpers are not '66. Any other hard-to-find things?

One thing to remember the 1966 Bronco took a lot of styling cues and parts from the 1966 F100. Switches, taillights, the design of the rear quarters, the 66 tailgate has a line on it matching the 66 F100 while the 67 Bronco got a new tailgate with a raised "bump" that matches the new body design 67 F100 "bumpside".

I have seen a LOT of 1967's with most of these 1966 ONLY traits being listed... ;)
Let's either stick to true 1966 ONLY stuff or list them as 66/67...

Rear view mirror is bolted to the windshield frame....Hard top lock is separate from handle....there is a drip rail on the top of the drivers floor pan....

OK, quickly off the top of my head, these are the 1966 only things I can think of:
Silver upholstery
Eyebrow grille
Metal fresh air box
Single circuit master cylinder
Non detent t-case shifter
Rectangular t-case shift boot
Long tapered dash knobs
Screw on rear view mirror
Logo'd horn button
Pedal rain gutter
Hubcaps

What else?
Where are the real 66 nerds to back me up on this? :)

A few of the things you mention were only available on the early '66 Broncos.

The hubcaps were unique.
Front and Rear bumpers (which are different from each other) but it's my understanding that these did carry over into some '67 Broncos.
In around March of '66 Ford switched to using the plastic housing w/ indicator for the t-case. At which time the t-case shifter itself changed and had a chrome handle.
The jack mount and location is unique for '66.
The early '66 Broncos had a filler plug in the rear differential housing, with no plug in the 3-member.
Early '66 had the front facing rear shock mounts.
The Steering linkage on '66 Broncos (and some '67) had the rebuildable end on the pitman arm side.

I'm not convinced that all '66 Broncos came with windshield frame mounted rear view mirrors. Just my opinion.

Terry, I agree. What I was getting at was items that you would ONLY find
on a 1966 Bronco, NOT that fact that every 1966 Bronco should have them. ;)

Agreed, he did a GREAT job on that thread, but again, a lot of the stuff
listed was ALSO available in 1967, that's all I am trying to get at.
Most of the '66 ONLY items that people talk about is incorrect.

You should start a thread about how 67's get all their glory stollen by 66's.
