74 ignition switch EFI wiring help

Trying to button up my 351W and EFI conversion and think my ignition switch is faulty. Heck, maybe not even the correct one for 74

I did some searching and looking at the vendors sites and I seem to have more wires to my switch than what I can find. Not surprising as my wiring is hacked all to hell.

So looking at the back of the switch going from left to right. I have the following wires

Post 1 ignition switch socket = soft flexable Brown wire and a Green Red wire
Post 2 ignition switch socket = Red
Post 3 ignition switch socket = Yellow
Post 4 on ignition switch = Red (has big protective cover over the connector it's in
Post center = Black wire and Orange yellow

My issue is, I need to find where to hook into for hot in start and run. I've read the center post should be hot all the time if the key is in any position other then off but mine is not. It's only hot in Acc and run. If I turn the key to "start" all voltage is lost from the center post.

Any help/advice would be great on this. Ordering new parts is not a problem I just want to make sure mine is bad before buying.

Been a little while, but I recall the center post is the accessory post. Hence why it is hot in bot accessory and run. Those are the times you want the radio working.

I don't recall stock wiring colors. But one of the things you are likely to find is the ignition post isn't a guaranteed hot in start. Stock form it doesn't matter, the "I" post on the starter powers the ignition while in start. My last two ignition switches were hot in start, about 95% of the time. I learned to watch the aftermarket gauges while starting the Bronco. If they dropped off just give up cranking the engine and try again.

The red-green and green-red wires are probably hot in both start and run.

Thanks, I'll do some more testing today.

I have all my EFI related power needs coming from a separate fuse/relay box with ECM, TFI, O2's, and FP (also the electric fan) all getting power via a relay. I just need a hot in start and run for this and I'm all wired up

I would have bet money I read on this board that the center post was hot in all in run, acc and start. Guess I'm mistaken.

Test....pppfffff Why did I even bother.

Viperwolf1 are you ever wrong? LOL Green with Red stripe is hot in both. It appears that my ignition switch is having some issues because at first it wasn't hot in both but after working it once or twice it was hot.

Guess I'll order a new switch and have it working smoothly.

Thanks guys....
