Trying to button up my 351W and EFI conversion and think my ignition switch is faulty. Heck, maybe not even the correct one for 74
I did some searching and looking at the vendors sites and I seem to have more wires to my switch than what I can find. Not surprising as my wiring is hacked all to hell.
So looking at the back of the switch going from left to right. I have the following wires
Post 1 ignition switch socket = soft flexable Brown wire and a Green Red wire
Post 2 ignition switch socket = Red
Post 3 ignition switch socket = Yellow
Post 4 on ignition switch = Red (has big protective cover over the connector it's in
Post center = Black wire and Orange yellow
My issue is, I need to find where to hook into for hot in start and run. I've read the center post should be hot all the time if the key is in any position other then off but mine is not. It's only hot in Acc and run. If I turn the key to "start" all voltage is lost from the center post.
Any help/advice would be great on this. Ordering new parts is not a problem I just want to make sure mine is bad before buying.
