Clogged injectors possibly if it's sat a long time.. This modern ethanol gas gels up a lot quicker than the non-ethanol stuff used to. Can in a month or two vs. a year for good ole unleaded.

I'm not sure you'll be able to hear the injectors but you should be able to hear the pump turn on. Either way it means the stator works.

IF it clicks and isnt squirting, its clogged.. unlikely that they ALL are.. but possible.. but this will tell you if you need to pull the injectors or replace the dizzy..

If you have a spare dizzy.. then just plug the dizzy into the harness (leave yours installed), turn the key on, and rotate... listen for the injector clicks. Report back.

based on the above, it sounds like you are pulling and cleaning your injectors.. seems odd that they would all be clogged/stuck though.. mine sits for LONG periods at a time and only once had the fuel go bad, but still started just fine.

If that was INDEED the injector clicking, and you dont loose pressure on the fuel rail when that is happening, then that would seem that the injectors are firing, but no fuel is coming out... you DID DISCONNECT the fuel pump after pressurizing the rail to see if it looses pressure when cranking, right? (otherwise it will run again while cranking IIRC)

I will also go with clogged injectors. While it is apart cycle the key a few times to drain the fuel lines as well. Change the filter.

Use more of that good flammable carb cleaner.

i did disconnect the fuel pump to check the pressure drop. so i just pulled the injectors. they are very crudy looking. i also have another set i pulled out of another 5.0 that has been sitting. i don't know much about injectors so i watched some youtube videos on cleaning them. this guy hooked up a switch to 12v and a syringe to force carb cleaner through after opening the injector. sounded good so i tried that today on the other set of injectors. the carb cleaner came out in a stream not all cloud like. the ones i pulled out of my bronco would barely dribble. do these sound good enough to get it running. i haven't even started to tackle the problem that got it parked in first place. i want it running before i try to change the cam.

Sounds like the other ones will clean up a little quicker, but whether or not one set will be better than the other will only come up once they're clean. Sounds like neither one is good to go until they're cleaned.
Some flow is good, but you definitely want to see that dispersed spray before putting them back in. Don't want to go to all of that work only to put crappy injectors back in.

Depending on what the actual problem is in each, your current Bronco injectors might still clean up good. Only way to know is to try it. As long as they're all the same color (lb rating) then you might even mix and match your own set out of the best flowing individual injectors of the two batches.

Good luck.

I have a buddy here in KY that professionally cleans them if you want to go that way, I think he charges around $40, plus freight (I get a discount so not exactly sure)? I can find out.

You may have already been here, this is what I plan on doing as I put the motor together.

I have a pretty hard time believing every injectors is clogged. But, if they look like crap I suppose it's possible, and you gotta go with what you know.
Just wait until E-15 hits the streets...

check your fuel filter. if it is bad and a bunch of crud/sediment got through, that could clog every injector.

i let the injectors sit in carb cleaner over night and tried again to spray through and they sprayed much better than before. i put them back in and it fired right up --- then died. it did this over and over. i had planed on changing the fuel filters but got in too much of a hurry to try and start it. it was running out of fuel. 2 new filters and it idles great. next is trying to confirm the cam is flat.

Good deal, sounds like a nasty filter led to clogged injectors, and the combo of both was your headache. Seen it several times with this gelatinous gas now days.
