Is the Bronco coming back?

According to an article on MSN this morning, there are 10 cars that need to come back. Our beloved Bronco is one of them.

It says: 'There's a conspicuous lack in todays automotive selection of a two door truck. Like the Jeep Wagoneer, the Bronco focused more on rough and tumble off roading rather than pavement livability. As such, the Bronco is set to happen no later than 2020 according to a proposed UAW contract. That's not to long to wait is it?" Think it will happen?

No the bronco will NEVER come back.

I get email/bulletins from the UAW all the time. Every once in awhile there is something worth reading. Recently I read that they are in talks with Ford about a ramp up in production and people at the Focus plant where a new vehicle will be produced.

It looks like the Ranger and Bronco come back in 2020.

The Escape is killed.
Focus production moves to Mexico. The Ranger/Bronco moves into the existing US Focus plant.

Heard this stuff before but not from the UAW.....

Right, but will it be a solid axle contender for jeep? Look anything like an EB?
NO! NEVER.

Probably not.
But the Jeep loses its solid front axle in a couple of years from what I have read.

The Jeep guys are hoping that the JK truck thing comes out before they lose their solid axles.
Only time will tell.....

I am at a point where even if Ford makes the Bronco a simple off shoot of the Ranger I will be down at the Ford dealer buying one.
I do not need another trail rig. I have two now.
In fact I will probably buy one and just have my wife drive it.
By 2020 my daughter will be driving....maybe I will buy it for her....

it'll be based on the new ranger, so I'm expecting independent front suspension, possibly rear. A smathering of upgrades for axle ratios, lockers, 2wd/4wd/Awd. I expect it to compete more in the midsize SUV market with the 4-runner, Traverse, Pathfinder.

Yup.

But I will buy one. Let the wife and daughter drive it for a few years then take it back and throw some solid axles under it.....
Maybe not though....as I said above I have two trail rigs already,.....

X2.

I have read enough credible info to say that Ford is going to build another Bronco, what that Bronco will look like yet we don't know. I will more than likely purchase one anyway.

2020 there will be a vehicle with a Bronco badge and 4 tires. It will be designed by engineers to sell to the mass market while complying with state and federal regulations. Good luck it being what we would really want. I'm not holding my breath or selling my Bronco.
