Those pics from the garage look great. Awesome stance and color.

Thanks. Been playing around with plastidip on the wheels just to get an idea before powder coating.

Anton, That looks really super good, but I think it actually looks better all natural. What's your thoughts? It does lend to the old school look. Kind of like a steel wheel.

I have surprised myself even saying this because every wheel I have had I either paint black or black (or gray) and natural....so that was tough for me to say for sure. I think I have your email and I can send some shots if you like. I don't want to clutter your build.

EDIT: Don't stress about the time to complete it. It's frigging awesome and will be worth the wait for sure.

Thanks Tyler. It's funny because they make an all grey, as cast version with a polished lip that I was originally going to order. Then I decided I wanted the "windows" polished so I ordered all polished with the intention of painting grey. But what I really decided I wanted was the look of vintage slot hubcaps and the Magnum 500 wheels. The polished look is to blinged out for me and I think the black centers give the wheels the vintage look I'm after. I plastidipped another wheel in dark grey and I don't like it as much. Send me some pics for sure.

I think those wheels look much better with the black background then they do all polished. I also love the color of the Bronco.

Magnum 500's are the exact wheel that came to my mind. I was looking at your black version and trying to figure out a way to show off the "spoke" part like magnums. With your detailed thoughts I think you nailed the magnum/slot combo for sure and should run with it.

I still shoot you some pics of those wheels I mentioned because I can tell you are like me and you can't leave things things alone. You will get a kick out of it!

Yeah, My plan was to leave the "spokes" polished and I tried it but it just became too busy and distracting.

Please send those pics when you get a chance.

Anton,
I can't find your email addy from before. If you don't mind PM it to me.

I don't see an easy or attractive way either. Once you said you wanted to capture the feel of slots and magnums at the same time I think you nailed it!

Nice Anton! You're building one hell of a Bronco. Can't wait to see finished pics.

WASSUP Keith!!!! Great to hear from ya and nice to know your still lurking! Thanks, it's coming along but slow going. But I can't complain cause it's slow from working non-stop. I'll make sure to send you a PM when it's done in March/April. Looking to make serious progress 2nd half of December and then again in February.

Thanks for the compliment Stigy. I hope you find the perfect bronco for you. Hard to find LUBR's with Coyotes though. Due to my current work schedule the Bronco has been in limbo. The plan is to take a couple months off in Jan/Feb/March and complete it by FFF 2015. Fingers crossed.

Anton,
Did you happen to see the episode of Bitchin' Rides where they did a bit of updating on a white, I think 33 Ford? Reason I ask is they swapped the 90's directional wheels for some salt flat looking wheels similar to your. Even though they were gray/natural it looked like a good layout that would work for your black/natural wheels. I can't find an image online or I'd link it for you.

Hey Tyler,

I did not but I like his builds so I'll try to dig it up. Cast gray was the original plan.

Thanks!

I hate to post this but...

Looks like I'm going to bite the bullet and have someone do the wiring and some final assembly. My schedule just isn't letting me get at it and I'd rather drive it than stare at it and dream. I contacted a professional Hot Rod builder who's work I admire (Reedsridedesigns Ryan Reed's Instagram) but his schedule is full. He did turn me onto another builder with some serious skills so I'm hoping it all works out. This build definitely didn't go as planned, but such is life. I should know by saturday if it can be done by FFF 2015.

How's this project coming along?

Thanks for asking. For a second there I got excited to see my thread had a post then I only became discouraged by the lack of progress.

Sadly, it's dead in the water (or garage that is). Renovating the house and now the bronco is blocked in by a bunch of new furniture. (deep sigh) Managed to get most of the eastwood sound deadening installed and had the rear axle fully rebuilt (but of course the cross drilled/slotted rotors i bought two years ago don't fit with the Mark V callipers (UGHHHHH). Like a dummy I've bought a couple more projects (two U13's and a 1962 XKE Roadster) that'll be just as difficult to find time to work on.

That's about it. It's amazing how quickly this stalled but I can't complain because I'm working all the time so I can at least afford a project like this. But I have no time to work on the project so in some ways having the $$$ doesn't matter when you enjoy doing the work. (deeper sigh).I'm not going to make anymore statements on when it'll be done cause it'll only discourage me. Sorry if I sound like a buzzkill but it's really frustrating to me that it isn't done.

OKAY, thanks for letting me vent. One day, some day...
