Just received a call from the last 3 team members. They landed in San Diego and are on their way down to Ensenada. MP is with them, so we have a full crew now! Here's a couple of shots from today. Many of you will recognize some of the guys in these pics, because they are some of our CB.com brothers. We spent a good deal of the morning just tiding things up, checking everything AGAIN and installing the in-car camera. Should get really good video this year because I added a mixer with a 2nd camera. Finished up the evening eating some great pizza! We all decided that we were ready for something that wasn't wrapped in a tortilla! ;D BFG Pit meeting tomorrow, and pick up a few items such as IRC tracker and GPS files from PCI. Countdown is on!

Post #20, second pic....I'll never whine about packing for MY camping trips ever again. Holy Cow!

Good luck and be safe.

Just curious--how much does the race rig weigh when it's all loaded up at the starting line?

All loaded(spares, etc), full of fuel (52 gallons) is about 4900 lbs. Does not include driver weight, because that would be embarassing! :-[ Logistics are a huge part of this race, and it takes a small army to make it all work. Fortunately, it's primarily a volunteer army of EB guys!

Shop is always open to EB guys! we've got a pretty good stash of parts and usually have 3-4 EB "projects" that folks are working on at any one time, along with the racer! just drop me an email when you are in the Dallas area..

Race starts tomorrow -- we should leave the line about noon. Track us on the link in the first post of this thread.

We've been busy the past couple days, so I haven't had much chance to post. We went through contingency today, and passed tech inspection. This race is like the Super Bowl down here, and the locals treat us like rock stars. It's pretty cool. During the 4 hr "parade" in contingency, our MSD died..fortunately, we had a spare on board and were able to plug 'n go. Pics include Big Jerry Hoover doin' autographs, our fearless LEBC prez Matt Chapman, and our favorite Texas cop, Matt Perritte! I also provided a shot of our favorite Texas EB parts dude, Chuck Atkinson, stopping by to say hi! Also couldn't resist stopping for a steak at Bronco's! Hope some of these give you a sense of what's going on, but you really have to be here to understand! Enjoy -- wish you could all experience it..

Oh yeah..see if you recognize the blonde that stopped by to say hi!
