Help needed! Purchased a 68' recently. Newly rebuilt 302, PS, PB, etc. That said, need a mechanic and resto shop to help me with project plan to take to next level. Could use help in suggesting a reputable thought partner for my new toy! Located in Alpharetta GA is ideal but will drive for the right pro! Any suggestions are greatly appreciate.

Help Needed!

Bought a 68' recently with rebuilt 302, PS, PB, etc. Runs well but in need of a mechanic and resto shop to help me put plan together to take to next level. Open to any and all suggestions of reputable people you recommend. Preferably in the Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Brookhaven areas but will travel as needed. Thanks much!

Hey there. Welcome to classicbroncos.com. Better to start your own thread on the specific subject, but posting it here will certainly get it out to a wide audience quickly! Hopefully that includes some of the many GA members here on the forum.
Congrats on the new-to-you Bronco. Can't help with the shop recommendation, but someone's out there I'm sure.
If you're contemplating a big investment into a customization-heavy project, how far are you willing to travel? Just wondering, because if you're looking for a specialized restoration/customizer you may have to travel farther outside of your local region to find one that is willing to put you on the wait list. Lots of them around the country that specialize in Broncos, but most are pretty busy right now, so be ready for long waits.

Good luck!

In preparation for the Lonestar Bronco Mountain Ride, LBMR IV, in Ouray, CO, I checked and topped all fluids, tightened bolts, repaired some small things from previous trips, and I power washed and cleaned it for the first time in probably 8-9 months! Looking forward to Ouray and the San Juan Mountain trails.

Installed a new intake, will only be gold for a little bit, I'll eventually pull the engine to clean everything up. Also started rebuilding an edelbrock carb I got a good deal on, it is pretty rough but fixable.

Beautiful country up there, was there about 40 years ago... miss it greatly. I was in road band back then that played in Kalispel. Use to have a bumper sticker that said, "Where the Hell is Kalispel".

Put it in storage today as I am moving to the coast and need to find covered/enclosed storage before taking it there. My good friend/bronco buddy, Miikee73 offered to take it for now until I get settled in with my move. Thanks Mike! :D

Had to drill out a jet on each of the edelbrock carbs I have. Got the helicoil kit in today and got them both taken care of. Now I can finally reassemble them and put one on the bronco.

Took a 79 Bronco Dana 44 off and getting ready to do a complete rebuild, seals, upgraded axles, locker, new R&P. Then it is going under the son in laws 76.

Dis-reguard the 8 lug D44 on TON of the frame, (short term storage). I took the 5 lug that was under the frame off. Coil cup bolt heads were so rusty that the actual socket did not fit and neither did the next size down hammered on. Grinder time.

I am NOT reusing the 79 radius arms, so I did not care to cut the head off.
