Never heard quite that diagnosis for bad ball joints.
Slow reactive steering would have ball joints pretty low on the list I would think. Or they’d have to be so far gone you’d feel them in other ways as well.
What type of steering linkage do you have, and what else has been done to your steering?
And what exactly is leading you to believe it’s slow reacting?
To me that description is something that indicates a lot of other things before ball joints.
Of course, if you did test them and they are loose and worn, then you do need to replace them.
But you should look at a whole lot of other things as well.
Ordered some ball joints. My steering was slow to react and someone recommended I check my ball joints.
Got two D44's delivered and a 4 turn box. Now time to rebuild for the next project
I painted mine with summit Racing Pacific Blue yesterday. I had to throw a couple of screws in the flares and rocker guard to get a sense of how it's going to look in the end, View attachment 885732
Oh, and I would have to say this deserves its own thread. Definitely opens up lots of room for discussion usually.
Any steering discussion usually does.
Great shots.. sure wanted to go but had to prioritize seeing the childrenWe went to our first super celebration in Wisconsin Dells it was a lot of fun. Aww, nuts! I've been putzing with a back 40 hardtop in the hope of converting it to a safari-style top. Putting the top on it's top brought forth a NatGeo treasure trove of squirrel snacks. View attachment 885644 View attachment 885645
