After the carb flooded, rebuilding it, discovering a vacuum leak at the back of the intake and replacing the gasket, then I still couldn't get truck to idle right so I put in a new Summit 500CFM carb. She was idling and running great last night for about 5 minutes before I saw the pool of coolant under the engine... I forgot that the PO had zip-tied the top hose out of the way of the serpentine belt going to the AC compressor, which I didn't do after putting the intake back on, and the belt sliced the top hose open. It really goes like that, huh?
New hose comes today and I'm going to fab up a bracket/better way to keep the hose clear of the belt.
Hopefully by tomorrow she'll finally be ready for summer cruise nights (fingers crossed).
At least I got to enjoy a 5 minute ride last night in the beautiful weather:
