After the carb flooded, rebuilding it, discovering a vacuum leak at the back of the intake and replacing the gasket, then I still couldn't get truck to idle right so I put in a new Summit 500CFM carb. She was idling and running great last night for about 5 minutes before I saw the pool of coolant under the engine... I forgot that the PO had zip-tied the top hose out of the way of the serpentine belt going to the AC compressor, which I didn't do after putting the intake back on, and the belt sliced the top hose open. It really goes like that, huh?

New hose comes today and I'm going to fab up a bracket/better way to keep the hose clear of the belt.

Hopefully by tomorrow she'll finally be ready for summer cruise nights (fingers crossed).

At least I got to enjoy a 5 minute ride last night in the beautiful weather:

Took "Stretch" to a local charity car show, 2-300 cars & trucks + two wheelers!!! Weather was great, didn't win any prizes but I was the only EB there and I had a good time!!! There was only one rig besides mine that I took pics of a 1936 Ford 5 window coupe with a 302 with 3-2s & C4!!! I sure was happy to see the distributor on the front of that motor!!!:D:D:D

That's great Ben.. Looks fun

Put on the WH 2.5 lift. The 53 year old suspension was toast, the old c cups crumbled when I took them out. Also added a step so the wife can get in. Now I don't feel like I'm riding in a covered wagon.

Nice. On all counts.
How’s the air pressure in the tires? Even just from the picture it looks like you could let a little more out of the rears.
Just looking at the dirt area in the center of the tread in the clean area in that last inch or so. Unless you’re prone to carrying heavy loads, which Broncos don’t usually get, you can let air out until the wear area is virtually at the edge of the tread.

Just thinking of another way to get a little smoother ride around town.

Had Jake Good @Jakes_offroad install Hydroboost, cooler and do some fab work on the ol' girl. Jake said the WH Moab System https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/MOAB-HydroBoost-Power-Brake-System-B/Bronco_Power_Brakes was the nicest thing he has installed in quite a while. Even though we had to source a -6AN male to 16 mm Male power steering fitting for the Explorer pump. (All Star ALL48210). I have 33x12.5 R15 and this now stops like a new car. Now, I may let my wife drive it ;)

Took out my trail box and re-installed the rear seat and seat belts for my 9 yo granddaughter who's visiting for the summer.
